So far I can only receive TVi, TV1 and TV2 on digital mode, using my smart LED TV in my condo in Klang Valley.

Hi do you add on any special antenna or box?

My tv has dvbt2 but can detect. Living in kepong
*
No special antenna or box, because I stay in a condo with centralized antenna where I just connect my LED TV to the antenna port provided by the condo.

Hi. I'm in condo too and there is 2 port, Ant and Sat.
Which one to use?
*
Satellite is for Astro, Antenna is for TV. You have to connect the antenna port to your TV. You can tune in to both Analog TV stations as well as Digital TV and radio stations after that. May I know is your condo new? Some old condos may not have the latest centralized antenna.

Yeah my condo is new with centralized Ant. smile.gif
No reception at kepong yet.
*
After connecting the antenna to your TV, you may try to do setup and search for Digital TV channels. If still no signal, you can ask your condo management whether the centralized antenna supports DVB-T or HbbTV or not.

Can share us some screenshots or videos of TV1 HbbTV?
*
It is exactly the same as digital TV1. No high definition. Nothing to shout about.

Only TV3 HbbTV Trial is HD and dolby digital plus, but it is not real time. The picture and sound quality is far poorer than those HD channels in Astro.

TV9 now showing this 16:9 (HD) programme without letterbox.

Original from 4:3 video
[attachmentid=8336593]

After being stretched on 16:9 TV
[attachmentid=8336608]

And it appears that they've changed a new subtitle font for good.

Same goes to 8TV. But some programmes still displays letterbox.

It is still SD, not HD.

The K2 would be the better one. Been using it since mid 2015 no problem so far except maybe the remote.
*
K2 brand is too light and it looks cheap and low quality. K2 does not have manual buttons for volume and channel. It depends solely on remote control. The decoder will face problem if the remote control is missing or damaged.

I think the one shown by Maxeos is a better option. At least we can see manual buttons on the decoder.

When buying digital TV tuner box, below is my list of the most important criteria:
1) support DVB-T2 (must have the wording DVB-T2 on the decoder, not DVB-T)
2) manual buttons for channels and volume on the decoder
3) come with remote control
4) display TV channel on the decoder screen
5) HDMI port
6) USB port

I think some good DVB-T2 tuner decoders below.

So, which one are you currently using?
*
I used to have both K2 and the first picture (DVB-T2&S2 combo). In the end I gave the K2 box to my relative. The decoder in the first picture fits my requirement.

Spot on on the remote - but quality wise actually not too bad. Used it for almost a year, no problem. Only thing is it is too light - prone to movements if your antenna cable is moved.

Most of the features on your list (HDMI, remote, USB, DVB-T2 support) is pretty standard on most decoders available for sale on Malaysian/Thai/Singapore market.

My general recommendation in getting a decoder - get anything that has a separate power supply (adapter) - the K2 for example. It is also commonly and widely available on Lazada, and is very good value for the price. Only thing is it doesn't come presupplied with HDMI cable so you have to get it separately.
*
K2 is out of my consideration because it depends solely on remote control and it has no mannual buttons. I don't see K2 has a separate power adapter. The best power adapter is Astro Beyonf decoded where it has a separate power cord.

I can't access them anymore , did lazada remove the link ?
Anyhow ,after searching , http://www.lazada.com.my/catalog/?q=full-h...-box-tv-hdtv-uk
non of them selling locally.

Would like to know again where did you bought them ? how much did you get the decoder ?
*
I bought it from lazada last time at a higher price. Now the price has been reduced. In fact RM80++ including postage for a DVB-T2 combo box is already a good price.

I saw a recording function , does it work on your box ? btw , all are not local selling.Overseas.You bought oversea ?
*
I bought it from Lazada and the seller is from overseas. Below is the picture. It took only 10 days to reach me. The decoder has record function using usb. You can connect the decoder to TV by 4 methods - HDMI, component video, coaxial or RCA (red, white, yellow). Use HDMI for the best quality of picture and sound, followed by coaxial and component video. Try not to use the conventional RCA (only if your TV is too old which only has RCA terminal). The other cheaper model - K2 only has RCA and HDMI.

Thank you very much for a reply , would you directly me the lazada seller oversea link ? The oversea is from which country ?
Did you test out yet the recording function ? how big is the size for recording a video ?
Thank you smile.gif

I couldn't remember which seller was. The price was higher last time at nearly RM100. I saw someone selling at RM80+ in Lazada now. I've tested the recording function before. It works. But I am not sure about the size as I deleted the file from my pendrive after my testing was successful.

If I remember correctly , lazada does keep track on the item we bought on the account list.
one of the reason I was asking for the link was to confirm about which model and seller since it's mostly trusted and able to deliver it within 10 days.
I might worry of getting some seller which deliver takes 2 weeks and when comes out to be a faulty units.
I even spot some more cheaper around 80+ but how reliable is out of question. Maybe you could help me to check the link of the seller you brought from.
Thank you

and also the recording , not sure how it works but do I need to turn on the TV to record or just set the timer while tv is off to record ? Size does matter if it comes with raw .ts format shakehead.gif
About the media support , does it support .mkv , mp4 files or rmvb files ? though just an extra question as media player biggrin.gif
Thanks agian

I don't have Lazada account. I used as guest to enter the transaction. I have deleted the email as well. There are many sellers in Lazada selling the same item. You just need to look at their ratings and read buyers' review.

The recorded video was saved as MPEG-2 TS Video format. I have tested. The decoder also plays jpg, amp3 and mp4 files. As for other formats, I am not sure.

Thanks for the reply , I though you have an account for lazada.Yeh , many seller but not knowing which one is trusted and able to deliver as expected time.
Since it's MPEG-2 like dvd , the size is quite large 1-2GB for 1 hours still depends.
Maybe i'll try and get one and test.

It's confirm with the picture you provided ? got the 7 star button and support HDMI , RCA and component cable.I just worry i got th ewrong set with comes with oversea setting or plug.

You are so careful in making purchase decision. To overcome your doubt, I attach my decoder picture for your reference. You can get it from Lazada easily with various prices. Do check the sellers' ratings and buyers' review.

Do you think it'll work on malaysia set ? the closet it reassemble with yours. Not sure whether you bought from the seller.

I thought I have given you the pictures of my decoder. I think you worry too much. By the time you finally decide to buy it online, the price of the item might have been increased due to MYR depreciation or growing demand compared with MYTV official decoder which is priced at 300.

Out of stock sad.gif , will wait until stock returns , weird , I post here yesterday and today no stock hm..
Btw ,about the volume control was done on the player or on the TV itself ?
Just to confirm since it's a video player where need to set the tv for volume means set volume on tv remote but change channel on player remote sweat.gif
*
Well, you hesitated too much. If my memory serves me well, you have been asking the product since 2 months ago. I think sooner or later the price of product will definitely be increased, due to growing demand and awareness. Furthermore, Ringgit Malaysia keeps weakening against other currencies. Instead of waiting until the seller restocks at an indefinite date, why don't you pay a little bit higher and buy the product from another seller immediately?

Volume can be adjusted via either TV or decoder. To make it easier, you can just use the remote control of the decoder to change channels and volume.
