just done watching england u-21 euro hopes gone. followed all 3 matches in which henderson started in all 3. weird thing is he was passed the armband by mancienne in the first 2 matches but phil jones led the team in the 3rd. from what i saw, i think henderson is pretty ordinary. he was over-run by spain's midfield in the first match, didnt do much imo in the 2nd n 3rd match and rightly substituted in the final match. but credit to him that he tried, always wanting the ball to dictate the game from midfield. but the lack of killer passes and communication made him look very ordinary, n to pay 16mil for a 20 year old who only got the media's attention last season is certainly a gamble. lets hope he does btr and will mature to be a btr player when in melwood. i know its still early days in the transfer window but i hope 2 see a signing that would lifts the spirit of the team just like how suarez did. and guys, dont expect suarez to continue his hot form. it is always harder in the 2nd season, as opponents and defenders get to know u from the 1st season, they'll find ways to handle u. one example, torres who has really hot in his first season here in england.
btw what do u guys think of nzogbia ? with newcastle signing 3 midfielders already n also signing marveaux, theres a possibility that nzogbia is heading towards us. |

I'd agree, I watched the U-21's, He does look ordinary but its because the players that he's surrounded with are just not good enough. He tries for the quick 1-2's but seems like no one is on the same wavelength with him, hence the move breaks down.btw what do u guys think of nzogbia ? with newcastle signing 3 midfielders already n also signing marveaux, theres a possibility that nzogbia is heading towards us. Typical Pearce playing kick & rush football, embarrasing. Muamba of all people is playing in front of Henderson. I think most of his mistakes came when he trying to go with long balls, having a coach like Pearce isnt going to help. I'll judge Henderson in a Kenny Dalglish team rather than a Stuart Pearce team. |

Now Juan Mata will be on every Liverpool's fans wish list after his impressive performance for the Spanish u21 team.
Spain secured top spot in the group, and will now face Belarus, after a comfortable 3-0 win over Ukraine. Juan Mata scored twice, his second from the penalty spot, with Adrian bagging a goal in between. Denys Garmash saw red for a foul on Mata which resulted in the spot-kick. |

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Jun 19 2011, 01:29 AM) I think we are not expecting to sign him anyway since there are rumours of him not passing medical lar, not agreeing to personal terms lar. Bla bla bla. Lemme get this straight about MareuxEven last month, he himself admitted he would open to a move to Premier League but that not necessarily mean it would be Liverpool FC. So, no biggie. No question on NUFC thread there happy over the signing but it seems like they are having a dig on us on every god damn thing. Another reason why I said other premier league club gonna hate us for raiding their clubs. Better win something with all these raiding or else we gonna be hated for no reasons! - attacking player - check - injury prone - check - Goes to Toon instead of us - check - Bigger paycheck at Toon - check - top dog instead of rotation - check ok, even if he didn't fail medical & only didnt agree terms with us, cant help but he sounds like Mikey Owen Mark II Damn the Magpies so loaded can outbid us in terms of salary |

Yes hopefully KD knows how to nurture him. I think he needs a good DM partner that can complement his game.Typical Pearce playing kick & rush football, embarrasing. Henderson first caught my attention when he came off the bench to play against us last 2 seasons. First impression was that his work rate and energy shows very encouraging sign especially we all know that one of the midfielder's trait shud be tracking back and helping out the team. I haven't watch him in the U21 but I do see him as a potentially good player, if not world class.
We did pay 16m for Glenny who isn't world class but good player. So why not for Henderson who has at least 10-13 years in front of him? |

Maybe that explained his ridiculous price. We did pay 16m for Glenny who isn't world class but good player. So why not for Henderson who has at least 10-13 years in front of him? I see Henderson more like Carrick when MU signed him. Although maybe the latter was a bit better in term of technical ability but I don't think they are really far off in term of talent. And Henderson has age on his side. |

QUOTE(farisq @ Jun 20 2011, 01:54 PM) I thought Glenno was already an England international when we signed him. Maybe that explained his ridiculous price. Being England international doesnt mean you are world class players. To me, Glenny is still an above average but not the best player out there. At times, I think Kelly is as good as he is, if not better. With time, Kelly will only get better and it's only a matter of time that Kelly outshines Johnson in RWB.I see Henderson more like Carrick when MU signed him. Although maybe the latter was a bit better in term of technical ability but I don't think they are really far off in term of talent. And Henderson has age on his side. As for Henderson, we are buying his potential. So, it's one with risk. But if we succeed, we can definitely sell him off for more in future, considering how expensive English players are nowadays. |

Maybe that explained his ridiculous price. yeah henderson do look more like a carrick kind of player to me too. well for glen, i read somewhere, his high price was because chelsea made a last min bid to try to get him back to the bridge. i really forgot where i read there, but im pretty sure its a reliable source back then. but thats old story. anyways we shall reserve our thoughts on henderson for now, till at least a full season, tho i expect him to be better than lucas in adapting as he's a local lad and has been playing in the bpl.I see Henderson more like Carrick when MU signed him. Any news on Charlie Adam deal? There's an odd rumors that Spur's could sign Glen Johnson (according to Soccernet.com).
Villa , United & us are on the chase for Adam. Hope we could sign him. United seems to barging in every deal we are after.. damn! |
