QUOTE(Rotuham @ Jun 14 2011, 02:30 PM) Oh please, enough of playing players out of position. thing is, what is Stevie best position??? CM? AM? LM/RM? RB?Gerrard is the best cm we have and you want us to play him on the wings. When are we gonna actually bring in a decent winger for the right wing? you said his best position is CM, too bad RB, Eriksson, Maclaren or even Capello dont think so. Or is it he doesn't have the thrust of those coaches/managers to play in cm??? & why was that? its simple, he's prone to tactical indiscipline. Else why else all those last ditch tackles when Alonso&Hamann never need to execute once? Or maybe you are better than all of them that u actually knew his best position is cm. I don't even think he himself knew which is his best position, only he LIKE to be cm. |

QUOTE(chenwfng @ Jun 14 2011, 02:42 PM) If you follow closely during the 08/09 campaign, you can see how well Gerrard plays as a 2nd striker/CAM. Providing goal scoring opportunities for Torres and even scoring for himself. On his ability to tackle, he may not be the best tackler, but he is able to time his tackles well enough. I believe, he is at his best when playing CAM and 2nd best when he is playing CM. U said it urself that he excelled as CAM, why? cos there's no defensive responsibilites compare to cm. If he is able to time his tackle well enough, there is not even a need for last ditch tackle. Both Alonso & Hamann are not great tackler, rather they anticipate. I'm not saying he cant be a cm, just that its not as clear cut as ppl think that his best position is cm. No matter where he plays, most important thing is the balance of the team. |

QUOTE(madmoz @ Jun 17 2011, 02:19 PM) To be honest, most reports from the u21s seem to indicate that this Henderson fella's rubbish Me wonder whether Redknapp Sr remark on chelski 22mil approach is directed Henderson. "Ive seen 20 mil transfer for someone not even qualify to lace Luka's boot" Gotta envy the other red team's partnership of smalling and jones though. We've got a long way to go yet but we'll get there |

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Jun 19 2011, 01:29 AM) I think we are not expecting to sign him anyway since there are rumours of him not passing medical lar, not agreeing to personal terms lar. Bla bla bla. Lemme get this straight about MareuxEven last month, he himself admitted he would open to a move to Premier League but that not necessarily mean it would be Liverpool FC. So, no biggie. No question on NUFC thread there happy over the signing but it seems like they are having a dig on us on every god damn thing. Another reason why I said other premier league club gonna hate us for raiding their clubs. Better win something with all these raiding or else we gonna be hated for no reasons! - attacking player - check - injury prone - check - Goes to Toon instead of us - check - Bigger paycheck at Toon - check - top dog instead of rotation - check ok, even if he didn't fail medical & only didnt agree terms with us, cant help but he sounds like Mikey Owen Mark II Damn the Magpies so loaded can outbid us in terms of salary |

QUOTE(Rotuham @ Jun 22 2011, 05:40 PM) If u ask me,i felt mr liverpool would have been michael owen. But i didnt feel that sad when he left because i knew for strikers there would always be a replacement. You must be kidding me. Owen=Mr. Liverpool? He never even endeared himself to the majority of Reds. He's not exactly popular even during in his prime years with us. Unlike Fowler who can be termed that.Fowler left, owen stepped up,owen left torres came in some time after.now its suarez. But midfielders are not like that.Barnes left, who actually was a an adequate replacement?alonso masc left who exactly are their like to like replacement? Even a club like man city which has no limit to spending doesnt want to lose their best player in tevez. Players come to this club for the lure of playing alongside world class players like gerrard and suarez. I wont say lucas, spearing or henderson coz they have much to prove at this stage and are not proven winners. If we lose our best player then what statement does the club intend to send to the players out there. It will be a push factor for players who we are targetting. It's already hard enough without champions league. Selling him will unsettle senior players like carra, reina, johnson and the loyal home fans will be furious. Let me ask u a question, if city meets messi's buy out clause,do you think barca will sell? As for Gerrard issue, lets just say there's 2 school of thought. Lets just agree to disagree as there'll endless arguments from both side. Though it'll be more interesting if we state out the reasons. BTW if City meets Messi buyout clause, Barca are powerless & have no choice but to accept since the price is met. Its a matter of whether Messi wanna go there. Else how on earth would Barca sold Figo to RM, their bitterest of a rival To quote Porto president, " There's only figures & account no." |

i dunno there's a ban on selling Gerrard discussion here
anyway, why so work up over something that won't happen, ie 50mil for Gerrard? the whole discussion is whether u guys accept 50mil for Stevie or not. Just stated ur reasons for it or just ignore if u dun like. Dont goes ard castigating ppl just because they have different opinion. Or is it pro Gerrard camp thinks their opinion is all mighty & ppl need to adhere to? FFS this is a forum, which if it escapes some of you, for discussion purposes. There's no right or wrong in it |

QUOTE(Rotuham @ Jun 23 2011, 06:23 PM) You are already attempting to further the divide by claiming two camps;pro gerrard and anti gerrard.is that what you meant? By seeing the posts, there's no need for me to further divide. Obviously there a side agree & a side disagree. & who the hell anti Gerrard? by agreeing to sell him for 50mil doesnt make us anti Gerrard. Just make us more realistic Nobody is castigating anyone here.We are in the middle of a heated discussion that will cool down once the season starts. Like you said there is no right or wrong but there is something called loyalty which some should remember Loyalty eh...last I saw, his loyalty can be bought, or at least tempted. Anyway not to deviated further, point is the transfer wont happen as there wont be clubs stupid enough to cough out 50mil for him as original discussed. |

QUOTE(m4kubex @ Jul 1 2011, 03:54 PM) you can said anything bout me, i have been LFC faithful since 2000... is it a sin for hunger fans wanted his team to started winning trophies again? nope, but its a sin for a LFC faithful, in your words, to disrespect one of the most loyal servants of the club. In a way, you are disrespecting the club itself. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Its freaking greedy if its true. Worst than a mercenary. Just hope this is all his agent, Bernie Mandric doing since he had a reputation being a greedy prick. |

QUOTE(mercury8400 @ Jul 5 2011, 05:10 PM) If what u say is true then i lost all respect for Harry. He used to be a good player for both Aus and Leeds. Then he came to Liverpool but was injured too many times to make an impact. I never actually thought he was a money grabbing b*^S$rd. I knew he was paid good wages in Liverpool, but not great and he certainly never get involved in any "ask for more money from Liverpool" kinda thing. I thought he left because he couldn't get first team slot and we couldn't use him as he is injured too often... He's getting on a bit now, lost yards of pace and not even 1/4 as good as he used to be... so how can he justify the all these money he demanded???? QUOTE(aiyish @ Jul 5 2011, 05:20 PM) His agent famously took 2 mil off the 5mil tranfer fees to Leeds. All I can say is he maybe badly advised but still he suppose to ok'ed the way the agent do his deal. If he's in his prime then I can understand but now???? Just think he wanna milk every single cent he can in his last contract & in his home country As Duke mentioned, he's not the kinda player that loyal to a (our) club which cant exactly blame him as he can choose to be a professional with no emotion attached. But this just showed he's loyal to $$$ only. |

QUOTE(mercury8400 @ Jul 7 2011, 02:35 PM) I disagree. You are obviously wrong in this sense. Just because you are not bornt there/go there doesn't mean you can't learn the history of the place clubs? The grudge the locals have is obviously against those tourist/casual fans. If you show u can hold urself in conversation regarding the club, I'm sure they will see u in a different light. Although I support Liverpool, we, as Malaysians can and would never match the intense support of a Merseysider. And why would we? Afterall Liverpool is a place in England not Malaysia. We are Malaysians not English. Most of us were neither born there or stayed there for more than 5 years. Some of us have never even visited Liverpool. For the same reason the Merseysiders will NEVER show the SAME type of respect to fans from other areas because of the above rationale as well. Have a local scouse fren that admire us, for our unconditional support of the team even though not all of us seen the team in flesh not to mention getting up in the middle of the nite to watch the team play. Them local nvr do that, so its kinda obvious respect is 2 way street. Show them passion & knowledge & they'll embrace ur support. Not that need them locals to recognise ur support, its just a point to counter for the sake of discussion. This post has been edited by vreis: Jul 7 2011, 03:00 PM |

QUOTE(mr_nobigdeal @ Jul 11 2011, 04:33 PM) Xavi looks great in Barca because the players that involved in the team almost 80% from Spanish team not because he's the best. When everyday you play with the same team mates, for sure you can read the game perfectly. Plus he's been with Barca for so long. For that reason I can say he's not the best yet. Try put him in Man City and see what the outcome. he's there for long time but his teammates frequently change. He's there when Pep was still playing, then came the Oranje revolution & then the Rijkaards exotics & finally from 07 the current La Masia waves. So yes he's the best in his position since the days of Oranje revolution in Barca. Notice how frequent his teammates changes? It doesnt matter who he's teammates is, he's still playing those pin point passes to great effect. By your take, Messi is just ordianry since he's crappy in Argentine set up. |

QUOTE(aressandro10 @ Jul 18 2011, 04:03 PM) Yes. For only because they ostracize Rajagobal's comment by claiming they DO support Malaysia. But then proving otherwise by not attending the world cup qualifying match. have it ever occur to you that there are casual NT fans but passionate Liv fans. Hence they went to see Liv but at the same time cheers for NT as well?if accept that Rajagobal is wrong, then you must attend the match. If not, what rajagobal said about you is justified. Simple is it??? Does one that support NT have to go to every NT matches |

QUOTE(aressandro10 @ Jul 18 2011, 04:18 PM) there are no more than 10 home senior national team matches a year. This year there only Hong Kong, Myanmmar and Taiwan. Then its Singapore. Why would a casual NT supporters deliberately miss any of it? See the point? Its CASUAL fans for god's sake, they do what normal sane armchair supporters do. Hence the term casual, they're not follower of NT to begin with. |
