couldnt agree more..im no impressed by his performance this season. i would go for other LB..
This ^. Is he a significant improvement to what we currently have, don't think so. Though on the positive side, he has plenty of experience playing in big stages. But I expect some one better for our 1st choice left back. Maybe ok for back-up/2nd choice.
I watched the match between Spain n England this morning. You know just to see how our newly signed player n those who are linked to us perform.
Henderson - He played ok in a deeper role. Was guilty of losing possession I think maybe twice. Always demands the ball and make himself available for pass. I would say he is a raw version of Gerrard. I don't think he should be in our first 11 yet. I hope Kenny knows what is needed for him to improve his game.
Potential signing/Rumour Mata - Very good playing in an advanced role in midfield. More of a team player n very comfortable playing with team with stressing on possession and passing football. Had a few chances to score. Good skills.
Jeffren - Just ok. Played on the right flank. Did not have significant contribution.
Special mention Javi Martinez (Bilbao) - I know we are not linked to him. But I'm very impressed with his display. Played in the same role as Xabi and very much reminded me of him. Calm n composed on the ball and controlled the midfield well. Linked up between defenders and forwards.
Walker (Spurs) - He was among the few threats from England team. He is fast n caused problem to Spanish defense. His run on the right created the equaliser for England. Good assist too.
Jones - Not very impressed with him. Look slow and sometimes struggle to turn around.
On another note, we are linked with Sao Paolo attacking midfielder called Lucas.
An 18 year old with 3 caps in the senior side of brazil. According to wiki, Source is not too reliable but then it sounds delicious if we do sign an 18 year old like this for the future. Already 3 caps to his name and it's Brazil we are talking about. Surely he has some talent there.
Yes I noticed some of the fans mentioned his name in Soccernet. Quickly search for him in YouTube. Yup he is talented alright. But I guess based on YouTube standard everyone can appear talented
I think we are not expecting to sign him anyway since there are rumours of him not passing medical lar, not agreeing to personal terms lar. Bla bla bla.
Even last month, he himself admitted he would open to a move to Premier League but that not necessarily mean it would be Liverpool FC. So, no biggie. No question on NUFC thread there happy over the signing but it seems like they are having a dig on us on every god damn thing. Another reason why I said other premier league club gonna hate us for raiding their clubs. Better win something with all these raiding or else we gonna be hated for no reasons!
Well other premier league used to hate MU for raiding their stars likes Rooney, Berba, Ferdinand, Carrick the list goes on. So if we are taking that role now then it must be a good sign.
I'd agree, I watched the U-21's, He does look ordinary but its because the players that he's surrounded with are just not good enough. He tries for the quick 1-2's but seems like no one is on the same wavelength with him, hence the move breaks down.
Typical Pearce playing kick & rush football, embarrasing. Muamba of all people is playing in front of Henderson. I think most of his mistakes came when he trying to go with long balls, having a coach like Pearce isnt going to help.
I'll judge Henderson in a Kenny Dalglish team rather than a Stuart Pearce team.
Yes hopefully KD knows how to nurture him. I think he needs a good DM partner that can complement his game.
Henderson first caught my attention when he came off the bench to play against us last 2 seasons. First impression was that his work rate and energy shows very encouraging sign especially we all know that one of the midfielder's trait shud be tracking back and helping out the team. I haven't watch him in the U21 but I do see him as a potentially good player, if not world class.
We did pay 16m for Glenny who isn't world class but good player. So why not for Henderson who has at least 10-13 years in front of him?
I thought Glenno was already an England international when we signed him. Maybe that explained his ridiculous price.
I see Henderson more like Carrick when MU signed him. Although maybe the latter was a bit better in term of technical ability but I don't think they are really far off in term of talent. And Henderson has age on his side.
Great stuff. Already waiting for it since I first read it few weeks back. Looking forward to it.
wonder how the 4 clubs from England were selected? based on what

This guy can play on right wings as well, have a decent pace and comfortable with his right foot.I believe Carroll will be very happy if we sign this guy .
I used to monitor him 2 seasons back cause I thought he's the kind player that we needed then. I have to admit that I'm not that excited that we are linked to him now. Given that out financial situation and purchasing power have improved I expect us to go for a more quality player.
But one think I'm sure he'll bring into the team (if we sign him) is maturity and experience.
