Somebody should start a poll on the Liverpool transfer target most wanted by the fans. Honda, Mata, Agruero, Jefren, Adam, Downing, Marveoux, Dann or Cissokho?

Who you want most for the coming season or even pay us a visit this July 16th?

I have requested on the mods to add on poll but a different one from what you asked because I think putting in the names will be a little bit unrealistic and some of them might not even on the radar of Kenny. So, I have changed the poll. Thanks for your suggestion though.  biggrin.gif
*
So you thinking of putting in a poll as well? With all the hypes and happenings from the media during this summer transfer window, it is impossible to differentiate rumors from actual targets. What about poll on position that needed strengthening? Vote plus player suggestion (realistic one, of course).
Thanks for noticing anyway.. smile.gif

I actually think Aurelio is better than Riise. It's just that he is too weak and fragile that I worry most of the time that he will be injured when he went in for tackles. Surprised me that he didnt break his own leg but he lunged in on Adam Johnson last season. laugh.gif  tongue.gif
This , you have to ask hfi. He is a huge fans of Maxi.

To me, Maxi is a good squad player. Since he didn't whine much and happily settle for his wage on bench while doing some magic coming off the bench, I would rather he stays in the team. No point selling him off when we clearly need more depth in our squad. The fact that he is versatile just add an extra point. He can play left, right , middle and as second striker. So, why not?  nod.gif
*
Maxi is also a very good finisher who can score goals from right, left and middle of the park. Though he's crossing and passing ability is not as good. That's why we need player like Mata (speed) and Downing (crossing and set pieces) to complement our 2 strikers..

i dont really think we need left back.
i think johnson done a pretty decent job on the left. and kelly will get more playing time. plus we have jack robinson, a good back up.
*
Johnson prefered position will always be on the right flank even though he's coping well on the left last season. He'll only play as a left back as a last resort. Our right back has enough depth in Johnson, Kelly, and Flanagan. We need to have the same competition on the left as well. So IMO, our transfer targets this summer will be focus on the lefties..

i believe whoever which team sign, the player might not fit in the system/team

look at Torres , Carroll and Berba now

luckily, Suarez and Miereless is a Hit with us, lets hope Henderson will be another Alonso in the making
*
The case with Caroll, he wasn't 100% fit and just got back from injury. But then again, so is Suarez who just got back from suspension before he join us. The only difference with Suarez IMO was his experience and exposure of playing in the world cup to fit in different playing styles. In saying that, King Kenny's pass-and-move tactic does suits the Uruguayan better.

Of course once King Kenny signs a out and out winger with good crossing ability, he will have another tactical option at his disposal that will accommodate Carroll better.

A defender who can score goals. Reminds me of our beloved Sammi Hyppia.

No wonder their baseball team, Boston Red Sox are doing well in the MLB at the moment by trashing NY Yankees a few times already.. It's good to know their philosophy of building a winning team..

KK is quickly gaining reputation as hijacker. This is how a man does his job.
*
To be precise, we are the one being hijacked by SAF in the first place because we were the first to approach Jones and Young. Somehow, SAF finds it enjoyable to try and buy these 2 players also. I'd like to think more of the hijacker being hijacked.. More over, I think KK is an honourable guy who let's his 'assistants' aka Mr Comolli doing all the dirty works. KK doesn't like to get his hand dirty, does he? cool2.gif

Torres had a bad attitude? He was easily our best player on and off pitch. Just because he didnt handle his transfer well doesnt mean his attitude was worth a trash.

He always carry the team alone and the burden on him was so big that he always get targeted by defender and get bullied. He did a mistake by leaving when his team leave him most but let's not forget what he had contributed to the club.  sad.gif
*
Torres was an exemplary player both on and off the pitch during his first and 2nd season with us. His attitude on and off the pitch was unquestionable. Needless to say, his technical abilities was one of the best LFC has had in a striker. I remember seeing him scoring hid first Liverpool goal against his current team in front of the Kop on his debut. He was chasing down balls and running back from opposition half back to his own helping out Carragher and company. These attributes was what I told myself to remember Torres as a football player.

But things started changing with his injuries, Alonso + Rafa's departure, the 'double trouble' debts + RBS court drama and finally Russian money finally gets to this young lad who just became a father. The on the field sulking and refusal to chase balls just a few meters away. No mater how professional a football player he is, he was still troubled by all the problems plus the pressure on his shoulder when the team wasn't performing well..

I'm not looking for excuse for this former reds. In fact, I was very disappointed with the transfer and the club he chose to go ( of course, it's better than the Mancs) But rite now, I chose to forget his last season with us and remember the first two.

I also chose to look forward to the future. The likes of Suarez, Carroll and the new signings plus the willingness of our new owner to spend big is a good sign for us fans.

Manchester united fans trying to get tickets for the liverpool match is getting me worked up. mad.gif

I dont think we did that during their team tour.

It's denying our own fans who are desperate to see the team.

These ppl are so rich that they wouldn't mind investing money at their rival team. Let them help build our revenue. There was a time when I was thinking of buying their jersey for my toilet floor mat but then I thought, why should I give them my money.. hmm.gif

The Mancs no need to employ their own scouts. They just go: "We'll have whatever they have". No need to look at the menu.

For me, it's also a sign that they are paying a lot of attention on what we're doing.. Why? They scared of us?

i have to agree with solstice though
if some club comes offering Liv 50m for gerard
its silly not to sell, as a matter of fact if such event ever happen im pretty sure the club would sell

with 50m u guys can buff the team up, maybe its just time u guys built a team without gerard, sooner or later,  KD seems to be doing it now
but knowing gerard loyalty, perhaps no clubs would even attempt to bid for him
however gerrard is aging, i dont think anybody would be willing to bid that high for a 31 year old,
that would serve as detoriating player due to this age

however gerard aint getting any younger if he wants to win trophies that he did not win before,
he might wanna reconsider before he leaves the footy world.
just like how Henry left us for Barce for the final piece of the puzzle to sum up his Legacy, the UCL trophy.
as sour as it feels, i felt selfish at the same time happy that he completed it,
now having fun promoting footy in the US for his remaining years thumbup.gif

but mehh, despite saying the above
he knows where he stand and his decision is firm
the very likely case is that gerard will retire at Liverpool
if he had chose to move,i feel he would have done it earlier
the kop blood is strong in him.
*
I'm not a professional football player. But I do believe winning trophies is very different from winning them with the club you loved, the club that you are passionate about.. What's the point of winning it at Chelsea/ Mancs when your soul is still at Liverpool?

Finally someone who's not a midfielder:

South Korea striker Park Cho-young, 26, is ready to snub offers from Paris St Germain and Lille to join Liverpool. Monaco want £5.3million.

Just want to add that 5.3 mil is a bargain considering the Asian market this guy will create for us. He's a fine player as well.. 25 goals in 91 games for Monaco.

Will he be Liverpool's first Asian signing?

Would prefer signing people like him actually. His team relegated. He has not much choice in terms of picking team. Meaning, we get better chance of signing him. Definitely helps us in Asia market and satisfying SC desire of us signing asian player.

And maybe he wont mind warming the bench sometimes like Park Ji Sung too.

Anyway, judging the news I m reading lately, I guess we will soon the most hatred club by other club supporters in Premier League by keep raiding their club for players.

Newcastle fans already annoyed with us signing Carrol. Now, we are linked with Jonas and Enrique again.

Sunderland fans already upset with us signing their brightest prospect in the name of Henderson.
Imagine if we snatch Dann/Cahill away.... Birmingham and Bolton gonna hate us like the rest do  tongue.gif
*
For Carroll's case, if they want to hate, they should hate their owner who Carroll himself saying, forcing the player to out of the club for the money we paid them. They have every rights to reject the deal. For Henderson, Steve Bruce did wish him good luck, no? At least we didn't go around the back door bribing agents to sign these players, rite..
