Just one question >.<

Due to the "Extreme" Usage of meh and my dad with MBB2Amex where always can hit more then 3k just for spending on weekends, i have decided to get one for myself, called service center to ask for card application and they have mentioned that the approval within 60 minutes is no longer valid.

It is only valid on Treats fair only previously...

Then how would it be? sad.gif sad.gif i wanna apply tomorrow leh... sad.gif sad.gif

Any person who can confirm on this case? smile.gif

thanks.

I heard the 60 minutes for 1U is applicable for weekdays only. Need someone to confirm it tho.

I just redeemed 4 Nando's voucher for 2500 points each at the card center. Quite worth it I gotta say. (1/4 chicken + bottomless soft drink, without any side dish)

15-Sep-2011 SERVICE TAX - PRINCIPAL RM50.00
15-Sep-2011 PAID SERVICE TAX RM50.00
Maybank charge me the service tax and paid the service tax on the same day for AMEX card after 2 months i got the card, is that mean Maybank waved the servive tax for me? Btw, I thought the service tax will charge into Master/Visa card only from the previous post?

Let me tell you that it is not worth it to use your Amex to buy something online on overseas currency, even though it is a weekend. I did a amazon online transaction over a weekend thinking I will be rebated 5%, but turns out that the transaction date on my bill appeared as 3 days later (weekday) after the actual transaction date. My conversion charge also higher at 2.5% by Amex (actually I am not sure was it 2.5% or 2.5%+0.5%).
Whatever it was, you would be better off using your Maybank Master or Visa card for online overseas purchase. Unless you think 5x treatspoint is worth it (equivalent to about 2.5% also)

But when i use paypal with amex, It charges AFTER factoring in the 5X TP (2.5%) is worth it. For example i got charged the following
16-Sep-2011 15-Sep-2011 PAYPAL USA US US$1,000.00 RM3,167.20

Banks exchange rate at 15/09 is
1 US DOLLAR 3.1100

With amex after 2.5% ( 3.167*0.975) only 3.087825 so i actually saved back quite a lot compare with standard TT charges. Is MC/Visa cheaper?

You should compare using money changer's rate instead. The bank's rate usually is so high that sometimes you'll see your credit card posting a lower rate after conversion.

If you have enough TP, you can just give a call to CS for GST redemption.

3.5k is redemption through online and they will send the voucher to your house. 2.5K is a promotion, hot item or something they called it where you need to go to the Maybank card centre to redeem.
