QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jun 4 2011, 10:23 PM) tried a few 1080 files in mp4 and mkv format. different encoding. these are just some movie trailers ranging from 180 - 400mb. MKV is just a container, not a video format. That's why you get some that will play and some that will not. It's all down to the licensing of video format. Tegra2 should be able to play most format but since Asus is reluctant to licence the format and pay royalty fees, therefore cannot officially support playback of these affected video format. If you look at Samsung, their can play quite a lot of format without needing aftermarket player.i can get image on some. on others, blank screen. no sound. for the files with image, it is not smooth. not very jerky but definitely not as smooth as watching on a high-end notebook. i guess playing 1080 movies should be possible and better with tegra3. Added on June 4, 2011, 10:26 pm same here... bleeding top and bottom. seems quite bad though its only obvious when starting up the unit. so far, its not affect the performance. it's more an annoyance. goes to show that for QC, not many can top Apple. sad but true. Apple sells a lot more device therefore should encounter more problem. But Apple problem definitely more severe due to the fact they keep quiet about it and some customers can accept slight bleeding. |

But Apple problem definitely more severe due to the fact they keep quiet about it and some customers can accept slight bleeding. other members mentioned it is smoothly with the basic/ baseline 720 movies. hmmmm... din realise bleeding on aple products can be that bad. anyway, I will propably call Asus and see what they have to say abt the bleeding. camera... yes, can hear click when I start up TF and also when start camera function. I wanna ask, anyone figured out how to disable the camera shutter effect when taking photo? This post has been edited by mydragoon: Jun 5 2011, 09:50 AM |

yes some apple customers keep quiet because they dont want to be ashamed especially when they're those apple fanboys or die hard fans (much like toyota fanatics) - once their own units/cars have problems they may just keep it under the radar because they dont dare to let others know (since they keep pushing apple/toyota is great, QC excellent and all those stuff). so dont feel so bad, there are rotten apples too in the basket

The best way is to try the free MP4 format. Download one 1080P in that format and try. It should be GPU accelerated. Those that stutters is not gpu accelerated and uses software decoding.other members mentioned it is smoothly with the basic/ baseline 720 movies. hmmmm... din realise bleeding on aple products can be that bad. anyway, I will propably call Asus and see what they have to say abt the bleeding. camera... yes, can hear click when I start up TF and also when start camera function. Hi all for those who are early bird Transformer owner from the pre-order launch at mid valley, how many of you have lodge a complaint regarding our keyboard dock?. I've send a complaint to Asus.
1) Ppl are getting full set,we suppose to be early bird but still no dock?what's the point of taking the trouble to queue up then? 2) The price sold now for full set is RM1799. that's only RM1 more than the pre-ordered price. Again why pre-order when price almost the same?. Leather sleeve good enough to compensate?. You guys agree with me?. I am trying to get more ppl to be involved in making complaints I think we need to. My 2 other friends are already doing this. Thanks. |

To be fair, Shah already explained that Asus is lacking part for KBD, not the tablet itself. Probably just a sales strategy from Asus to lock in customer base while they wait for KBD production to ramp up.

this in chinese called dun have such a big head dun wear such a big hat. Utterly disappointed at Asus this time. Have you ever considered the supposedly 200 'loyal' and 'supportive' customers that got your tablet without the keyboard when we saw ppl holding a full set few days after the launch? So is this is how you repay/treat us back for our support for your company? We paying the same price somemore plus the 2 hrs queue.
Anyone emailing asus, feel free to quote this from me pift! This post has been edited by trio: Jun 5 2011, 02:10 PM |

Yup, agreed the marketing team failed and indeed its like a scam.nonetheless, the sales guys were friendly but the failure from marketing perspective could even be considered as a scam. To add-on, they said that after pre-order if we want the dock its RM428 which is total around RM1926. Where is the savings we are getting for pre-order when they are selling full set for RM1799 now?. If Asus Malaysia does not properly respond to this, I am thinking of going to tribunal. |

We paying the same price somemore plus the 2 hrs queue. ya, agree. i m under the impression that we're the pioneer batch and once the dock arrives, we should be getting them first. i dun mind if 1st batch of dock has got like 10 units. i can still wait but i'd expect that the pioneer batch gets these 10 first.Anyone emailing asus, feel free to quote this from me pift! what if we're getting this dock only like 3mths later?!? it defeats the purpose of a 'transformer' if all my tablet can do is stay at a 'tablet'. it can't transform into a 'notebook'. heck, i have to resort to using my wife's netbook just to reply here coz i find it typing on a physical keyboard easier. i just hope asus makes us for it and bundles something extra like extra charger, extended warranty, etc... |
