then why this?
Q43.  Is the DG Smart Plan™ eligible for the Government's broadband tax relief program?
A43.  Yes. Individual taxpayers will enjoy tax relief on the DG Smart Plan™ fee (e.g. DG Smart Plan™ 68 = RM68x12). Please contact your tax agent / consultant for advice on the broadband tax relief.

very confusing  unsure.gif

From what I read from the Q&A ( I cant provide the address but is official LHDN ), their perspective of broadband is internet with speed at least 384kbps. Therefore is considered broadband. But max RM500 nia lor... where got 68 x 12?

Do you have receipts to support your claim if being audited later?

That's why I said that you could put whatever figure you prefer as long as you could provide the supporting receipts if and only if you're being audited later. If you fail to provide, you'll be fined for certain penalty. Do you want to take that risk?

Sifus, want to ask this -

under section C as follows -

C3 - Income in respect of interest received by individuals resident in HK-5 -
Discounts Malaysia from money deposited with the following institutions
is tax:

Does this means those interest derived from fixed deposit and savings also must declare as income?
and under Section D -

D13 - Interest on Housing Loan
only for S&P signed within 2009 and 2010

my question is, how come this deduction only for certain years? and what is it about?

Thanks in advance

Interest like FD and savings accounts from Financial Institution is not taxable.

Interest Housing Loan exemption given at that specific time frame was an initiative by government to boost the local housing market. Remember 2009 there was a global recession?

if a property is under joint name, me and wife, the rental income has to be split evenly or can all put under one person, i.e. my wife since she has lower % ?

Can I still claim for old tax relief which I didn't claim on my many previous years? Example books, unit trust and share dividend for many previous years.

Most of Tax relief is per year basis, can't carry forward i.e burnt if not utilized except few.

UT and share dividends are incomes. If you submit now it means you have undeclared past incomes which might invite fines. So seek expert advice.

By right should be split evenly.
If they check, they might question why put all the income under your wife and not split evenly.
