hi guys..
can I get a tax relief for exercise books (buku garis 1, buku latihan matematik, buku lukisan, or other blank books used by students for taking notes)...

I'm tired of googling.. all info i got was just about books, journal, magazines, but i've no idea about exercise books..

Thanks..

Definitely not. It's not really a "book" for reading.

The relief is introduced to foster reading culture among Malaysians and to hope to improve literacy and knowledge through reading.

You wish that were true.... NOT. Tired to do homework, then let the IRB do their audit if you are "lucky" enough

These exercise books are allowed... not those blank types.
Keep the receipt for 7 years

Hey guys,

I worked full time from Aug 2011 - June 2013 with a gross salary of RM2700. I remember receiving EA forms, and got my tax number, and does it mean that I have declared my income?

I don't remember filing anything to LHDN though. T______T

I received a letter once that says that I need to pay RM3XXX, but my then colleague said that the tax has been paid already. So I am really confused.

And now, I am actually working for a startup based in Singapore, and some occasional freelance here and there but I have no idea how to deal with taxes as I am managing everything myself. D:

Should I just go to LDHN and check out my status?

No. It means, your previous employer has created a LHDN account for you, so you don't have to go to LHDN yourself to create the account.  Creating account and declaring your income are two separate things.

If you don't remember filing the LHDN, most probably you didn't do the filing. So, that's why you get a letter from LHDN, because you didn't do the filing.

Your previous employer may have deducted your salary for income tax, but you still need to do the filing..

To be safe, I suggest you do.. You go to LHDN first, before LHDN goes after you.

Ah thank you. So is it safe to say that I should go to LHDN and get the pin, and do it online for the 2 years that I have been working fulltime?
