She say is because i just got increment in my salary that's why income tax deduct one shot..

Yes, for PCB, the deduction % is calculated monthly (not avg salary per month). So, if for this month you receive several months of back-dated increment, or big bonus, the deduction will be a lot compared to normal. It can even be 1-1.5x more from your normal deduction.

Just wait until next year (2012), do the assessment for 2011, and you can claim back overpaid tax.

Be confident on what you have submitted smile.gif Give IRB a call to find out what's the reason the for the delay, to expedite the refund.

Cheers.

It depends if they need to check or not. From the previous thread, it seems that some of the forumers are able to get their refund cheques quite fast, within few weeks after doing an e-filling.

As for mine, I did e-filling as well and receive a letter stating that it is going for audit and I should contact them in 3 months time if I don't hear from them. Haven't heard from them so far. But I'm pretty sure it'll take the whole 3 months and another few more months to do all those checking and have to show them prove of receipts and everything before I get the refund back. smile.gif

You know, you can always call their helpline and ask them about it. They won't fine you just because you asked a question.

I haven't encounter anything like that basically because they have always reminded us to keep our receipts for the past 7 years (I think it's 7) and I've been keeping receipts as long as I can ever remember. If no receipts then it's like cari pasal lor.

Try to get other forms of prove for your purchase. Like if it's insurance, get the insurance company to give you something.
My dad has issues with income tax issues way back like in 1986. They still come and kacau him and he had to show prove to reduce the fine.

LOL If don't have the receipt or lost it, i.e. no proof, why do you put into tax deduction ? laugh.gif

Like that memang cari pasal lah biggrin.gif

Hope they not audit you. I was audited once, they ask me meet at interview room (Jln Duta branch). She brought my file with all my actual submissions for the past years, and check about 2-3 years latest submission, receipts, etc. Not really 100% scrutinize but still browse through all. Since I keep all in proper (at least 7 years), there is nothing they can do, and interview done after 20 minutes.

What you can do now is, try borrow receipts from friends, e.g. for book receipts no name printed (Popular/MPH/Kinokuniya/Borders/etc.)
If computer, then try ask vendor to print for you (must be your name).

I think you should just call them. They will not ask you to come for audit if you call them. Only if you receive the letter for them.
I think.

I submitted mine early March. I received a letter saying that mine was due for further audit.
Called them last 2 weeks and they said that my refund was approved, although of lower amount and I would receive the cheque in 14 working days.

Still waiting for that cheque!

Guess I should call them soon too since it's almost coming to three months anyway.
