Hi all..

1)  I got letter from lhdn, asking me to present them the original document for home loan interest.. anyway,
it doesn't matter what document.. the letter said

"sila kemukakan salinan asal ... bla bla",

but not a single line in the letter mentioning whether I should come to their office, or should I
mail it to them..

So, what should I do? go to lhdn? or mail them the document?
2) Another thing is, the letter mentions that I must give (kemukakan) document within 30 days from the date
of the letter. But I received the letter 3 weeks after the date on the later..  So, I only got 1 week? and
especially, raya holiday is near.. everywhere is holiday already.. should I ignore the timeline?
Tq.

I got the letter ask for copy of document too, I 've call them up. They won't spent time to meet us.

I believe those claim for Housing Loan Rebate, they will ask for supporting.

You may mail the document, or sent it personally to the LHDN branch counter.

You're exactly right. It's about the housing loan rebate. They want the proof for it.

Thank you guys for all you advices. I've called them up. The person said, by mail also
ok, but I better send it by person. and ask me to submit it to the branch that sent out
the letter. There're so many nearby branch, but now, I got to go to the far one.. haishhhh..

Guys,

Need some advice on Interest on housing loan.

The cross put as below:
An amount limited to a maximum of RM10,000 is deductible for each basis year for a period of three consecutive years of assessment beginning from the date in which the interest is first expended.

I bought my house on August 2009, so this is the third year I fill up the rebate column. The question is count by year or month? By next year am I still entitle for the rebate of this? Is there another 7 months for me to rebate?

If i'm not mistaken 2011 is the last year you can claim. You won't see that column anymore for next year(2012)

Really? Thanks for you reply.

Anyway, will see it on next year then. smile.gif

About the Parents Medical Rebate, I do have the receipt, but the clinic wrote my parents name instead of my name.

Can I claim then?

There is no specific, but if you put in an excessive amount, be prepared to get questioned/audited by LHDN. Also for you to prepare answers for it.
Yes, you can. It is easy for you to prove to LHDN that name is your mother (birth cert) if get audited.
It's quite logical for hospital/clinic to use the patient name (i.e. parent's) on the receipt/invoice/memo, rather than another person's name.

Roughly more than 3 weeks after submission.

Mind to share the amount range of the refund?

Because I notice if my refund is about rm200 or below, get it within few weeks. However, my last year refund almost 1k, took me more than 6mth to get it back..... sweat.gif

Wonder how about this year.

mine is 1.2k, mostly is from the 10k house loan deduction. Submit at middle of march and haven't got it back yet.... getting ready of all the documents if they ask.

Ya, about 1k I guess they will check more details. Mine too, last year after few months only ask for supporting document. Mostly is housing loan interest, else wont be that huge amount.

If this year they still ask for housing loan document, guess i will make a complain. Don't tell me every year I have to sent you the same document? And what is the purpose of using e-filling then? Might as well I go to branch, let them copy what ever document they want, so that no need wait for 3~4 mths only ask for document and another few mths to prepared the cheque...

About housing interest loan which allow to claim RM10k per year for 3 consecutive years, is by yearly basis or actual monthly?

Example, I start claim my house loan interest on Sept 09, if is by yearly last year complete the 3 years. But is is by month, I should have 8 months more for 2012 to claim for this year Income Tax.

Any expert can clarify this? notworthy.gif

The 1% Reduction in Income Tax Rate for each Band below RM50,000 is for year 2013?

So means this year declaring for 2012 still using the old rate?

doh.gif Have to wait for next year submission then...

Just to share for those who similar case with me, about the Housing Loan Interest Rebate, I have submit for the year of 2009,10, and 11 is last. I start paying on September 09, so for 3 consecutive years, I just hope that I can rebate until the 2012 August for exact 3 years. However, I have call up to clarify, is by years, not the months. So this year nothing to submit for rebate....

May I know is there a minimum amount for refund? I know sounds funny. But for my case is only about RM5. Is not so much about the RM5, but until now did not received any email or letter.

Should I contact them, or just ignore....
