I read somewhere that coax/optical cable does not carry HD audio.
That could be the source of problem. You may want to try HDMI. Added on July 22, 2011, 8:54 amHi all, I have intention to buy a media player mainly for bluray movies and I have in mind the following players: Hi-Media hd600A WD TV Live AC Ryan HD Essential Please advice the comparison of Hi-Media hd600A compared to WD TV Live and AC Ryan Essential in following areas: 1. picture quality - Heard WD TV sigma is better?? 2. HD audio - DTS-HD and DOLBY-TRUE HD (plan to connect to AV receiver) - Heard Hi-media is very good in core HD audio. How about WD TV? 3. reliability and smoothness, ease of use of GUI 4. Any other items that I could have missed out (eg BD menu and etc) I already own a bluray player. If using the above media player is not user friendly, I may want to stick back to my bluray player and trash the idea of buying a media player. Hello everyone, sorry for my english but i'm living in a small island where we use to speak french.
Curently i've got a bdps370 and a WDTV first generation. I'm very happy with the sony exept ntfs. But the WDTV is geting older and the specifications of the 600A are interesting. My biggest problem with WDTV is the menu non recognition for dvd and the fact that i can't skeep chapter in mkv's. The other problem is that the sound through optical is very flat and without life. The picture is a litle smoother too. My question for 600A owners is : How about picture quality on dvd Folder or ISO and mkv compared to the WDTV ?. What about the sound quality with analog output ? And via coax or optical outputs ? I've seen that we can create audio playlist with the remote, and network doesn't interest me. What is really important for me is PICTURE QUALITY AND A GOOD SOUND via coaxial output.(Good sound via analog would be a plus but i'm dreaming). Merci beaucoup for your answers. |

QUOTE(mroys@lyn @ Jul 31 2011, 01:28 PM) HD600A user here. anyone know how to reduce the subtitle font size? sometimes subtitles cover half of the screen.... If the subtitles are embedded, then you won't be able to do anything about it. If the subtitles are from an external source file, then you can use the "Left" cursor on the remote to decrease the font size. The "Right" cursor increases the font size. The "Up" and "Down" cursors are to move the subtitles up and down respectively on the screen. I use these four buttons to adjust the font size and placement a lot, very handy |

Hi guys, would anyone share their key file with me? Cause on my hd600a I don't have any hard disk connected to it. All my media are stored on a NAS. I was told that I should install YAMJ for better navigation for NAS. And that is why I need the key. Thanks

just received my HD600A yesterday. The player already comes with 1.0.3.4 firmware.
The remote is really something when compare to other China brands. The only thing I don't like about the remote is the hard tactile navigational keys. I wonder how long the buttons can last. By the way, is there anyway to change the default font type = Embedded English/Chinese Font to a different TTF? I know we can change it from the Menu when playing a movie but it's a hassle to do it for every movie. |

Anyway, here goes again:You mentioned you can change it from the Menu when playing a movie, how? I can't seem to do that even when the movie is being played. To have more fonts, you just need to copy any TTF files to the root of your connected HDD. Then, you should be able to change it from the Menu when playing a movie. |
