well i guess unless you can point out the good things about xtreamer's GUI, we won't be able to tell you whether HD600A has a better GUI or not... I personally have not use any other player so no comments.. But one thing I know HD600A can't do now compare to wdtv live is the moviesheet preview. HD600A is able to show the movies as poster, but not moviesheet.

Can xTreamer displays moviesheet too?

QUOTE(coolguy_mahen @ Jul 6 2011, 07:28 PM)
hi guys...just a quick question here...i'm looking to buy a himedia h600a...it seems like the best one on the new realtek 1185...

at the moment i have an xtreamer mk1 and i have no complaints with it..i find the gui and design quite ok, as in it doesnt look like an oem product, and they seem to support it pretty well too..

so now i'm deciding to whether a) get another xtreamer (cause tried and tested), b) get width live (heard its pretty decent) or c) go for latest- the himedia h600a.

considering the himedia's price at rm 300, it makes more sense to buy this than the other two. so, my final question that needs to be answered is
a) does it have a gui/design better or at least comparable to xtreamer?
(i put this as an important factor as u know u wouldnt want to have oem kind of gui on your spanking new hdtv rite lol)
b) are you satisfied with it overall? or in other words, would i coming from an xtreamer be ok with it?

i believe the answer to b would be very satisfied as i see they are quite committed in fixing the bugs and all...so just tinggal a)

thank you so much! smile.gif

Without intending to go too far off topic, I am just curious if xstreamer releases timely firmware updates to solve bugs etc.

When I was buying my first ever media player last year, I was considering getting the xstreamer. In the end, I chose not to buy any of their players because my googling on it was turning up tons and tons of unhappy owners with complaints about promises not being delivered by xstreamer, lots of unresolved bugs etc. Is it as bad as it shows on the forums, or have their improved on their firmware????

hi guys..sorry for the delay..yeah i know there are some very angry fans of xtreamer out there...somehow it didn't meet their requirement...but in my case it serves me very well and i thinkits quite robust with network streaming and all....

so far they released almost 40 firmware revision and no real serious bugs la i think...

anyways, not to go of topic, back to himedia...well here is a video link of the xtreamer gui, you guys can have a look and see whther they are more or less equal...

i think himedia seems to be good compared to everythin else...
the new xtreamer..not yet available in the malaysian market yet i think? plus the price will be rm430 or more so i'd like to get the himedia hd600a if its ok

Did you enable the auto scan or refresh the scan after add in the new movies?

Eh, I don't think I enable that. Is it in the [Setting].
Cause I suspect that there is something like this feature and tried looking around but didn't find it. cry.gif
Mind telling me where is it? Thanks thumbup.gif

HD600A user here. I also access my movie files via File Manager > USB > C.
from my external 2TB WD My Book HDD.

How do I access the movie files from "Movie" folder at the main menu ? My HD600A Movie folder was "greyed out" and I can't click on it.

well, i wanted to know if anyone did actually play it , not just looking at the marketing pitch... biggrin.gif

I have tested two Minibd files , .iso & .m2ts , both works well with 600A opening up the 4 standard menus (including the chapter).
