Hi

Wanna ask a very noob question.

If I buy media player, It's not necessary to buy BD player right? cos media player is something like all in one thingy. Am I right?

Simply put, If you have tons of Bluray discs it is better off to get a BD player... if you have tons of downloaded HD movies it would be wiser to get a media player.. that's just my opinion.

Don't forget that IF you have a Sony PS3, it has a blu-ray drive that will play blu-ray disk. You won't be able to play blu-ray disk if you just buy a media player, you still need to buy a blu-ray drive as an add-on to the media player to play blu-ray.

When I was in KL last year, a lot of the shops that sell blu-ray disks are selling them at more than 100 RM each, which is very expensive.

I assume those of you that do buy blu-ray must be importing them from Amazon US or HK?

I dont mind if I dont have BD player as long as I can watch HD content by downloading from the internet since I'm gonna subscribe 20MB unifi soon. Btw, I'm still not sure about downloadable HD content. Where can I source it? I read somehwere in this forum said that Asiabox media player provide free HD content. Is that true?

ooppss..guys...this is a HiMedia thread...just in case we are swaying away .. biggrin.gif

HD Contents "should be" downloaded from a private tracker if you do not want hollywood to hunt you down when you are torrenting down their movies thru a public tracker.. heh.

From google, i think this Asiabox is streaming HD contents thru those online streaming sites ie. pps, livevod, ... contents should be limited.

20MB unif...a screamer!

if your movie is residing in a folder ie. D:\movie\avatar\avatar.mkv , then you can add a jpg file named 'folder.jpg' under D:\movie\avatar

when you are browsing D:\movie, you will see all the possible movies in a thumbnail format...

If your movie is residing all in one folder ie : D:\movie\avatar.mkv and etc., then you can place a .jpg named the same as the movie file name (avatar.jpg), then you will see all movies thumbnail when you browse the D:\movie folder...

Hard to say, BD disc u can keep and store. Media player movie file, once the hard disc is spoiled, all the movie is gone.
But so far I don't have BD player, I'm using Media Player... thumbup.gif
Which HiMedia player can do recording, like Eaget M9?????

Just got myself a 600A from ccs221 store last weekend.

Found out that the new remote is really user friendly and also solid.
Tested my wireless A4Tech keyboard and it worked too. Cool! But the mouse didn't move though. Where can I use the mouse? During web browsing is it?

hi guys...just a quick question here...i'm looking to buy a himedia h600a...it seems like the best one on the new realtek 1185...

at the moment i have an xtreamer mk1 and i have no complaints with it..i find the gui and design quite ok, as in it doesnt look like an oem product, and they seem to support it pretty well too..

so now i'm deciding to whether a) get another xtreamer (cause tried and tested), b) get width live (heard its pretty decent) or c) go for latest- the himedia h600a.

considering the himedia's price at rm 300, it makes more sense to buy this than the other two. so, my final question that needs to be answered is
a) does it have a gui/design better or at least comparable to xtreamer?
(i put this as an important factor as u know u wouldnt want to have oem kind of gui on your spanking new hdtv rite lol)
b) are you satisfied with it overall? or in other words, would i coming from an xtreamer be ok with it?

i believe the answer to b would be very satisfied as i see they are quite committed in fixing the bugs and all...so just tinggal a)

thank you so much! smile.gif
