I read somewhere that coax/optical cable does not carry HD audio.
That could be the source of problem. You may want to try HDMI.
Added on July 22, 2011, 8:54 amHi all,
I have intention to buy a media player mainly for bluray movies and I have in mind the following players:
Hi-Media hd600A
WD TV Live
AC Ryan HD Essential
Please advice the comparison of Hi-Media hd600A compared to WD TV Live and AC Ryan Essential in following areas:
1. picture quality - Heard WD TV sigma is better??
2. HD audio - DTS-HD and DOLBY-TRUE HD (plan to connect to AV receiver) - Heard Hi-media is very good in core HD audio. How about WD TV?
3. reliability and smoothness, ease of use of GUI
4. Any other items that I could have missed out (eg BD menu and etc)
I already own a bluray player. If using the above media player is not user friendly, I may want to stick back to my bluray player and trash the idea of buying a media player.
