Well thanks for the feedback, I'm getting the sub from mike so it should be original no doubts. Will be going for 4 ohm so power wise will be slacking a bit considering either tru t2.1 or genesis dual mono As the output will be 200w while the sub needs 250w rms. Helix a2 while is sufficient with 300w at 4 ohm. Also diamond d5 can be considered too as it is an amp for sub rite? Correct me if I'm wrong ya.

If it's Mike you're getting it from, then I suggest you ask Mike for the best combination for your application. He knows his stuff!

And you're right about the Helix, better to over power the sub than to underpower it. At least that way you'll have some headroom.

Can anyone give advice how is the sound quality of Pioneer DEh-7150 ub compare with Pioneer Deh-6350sd? Somebody offer me 7150 with RM 530 second hand. Izit a good deal?
7150 with 7-band eq while 6350,8350,9350 model all with 5-band eq. It really help a lot for 7-band?
If sound quality got lot different, i will go for 7150 even though it is second hand.
how much different for 9350 if compare with 6350?

The thing is the output for the dual mono is slacking in providing enough juice to fully utilized the JLW3v3. Will it be a waste to use the dual mono to power the sub?

The dual mono is a underrated amp. It outputs way more than it claims. The Helix A2 is a safe bet too if you're not confident.

My is written as near ~400RMS. brows.gif Signed by whoever test the amp.

Dont have any to audit so it is really a hard decision to make. Either helix a2 or genesis dual mono. Have to go blind on this so any1 audited both before? Which is better in term of sounding and performance?

The Genesis Dual mono has plenty of character. Sound wise I think it's quite unique. Can't really explain it and with that sort of power it'll have no problems with almost any speaker.

The Helix A2 is also a monster of an amp, but it's very clinical, very german - plain and simple sounding. It's very detailed, but lacks character. I used this to drive my Dynaudio tweeters in the past and it was bloody fantastic. Worked really well with my Dynaudio Mids too. So it really depends on how you match the fella (A2).

Both amps are pretty good but the A2 is way larger in size (though the Genesis isn't that much smaller). Personally - since both amps are going to be used to drive a sub, I'd be pretty hard pressed to hear the musical difference between the two for a sub. Components is a different story.

Well I'm gonna use either of the mentioned amp above to drive my component instead and use my current amp, tru t2.100 to drive the sub. So what about the 'different story' hehe. Currently using Rainbow cs265 profi vanadium phase plug as component. Personally I'm leaning towards the type of sound produced by dynaudio Esotec 242. What do u guys say?

if budget permits, use a CLASS AB monoblock to drive a sub.
u wont go wrong..
Cons: its pricey for 300RMS@4ohm above
Pros: u will love how ur sub sounds

listening impression: u need to experience it urself to fully comprehend why Class AB monblock is the most ideal to drive a sub
