Guys need some opinions here. Just audited the coral sub, sound wise not bad can go quite low according to the spec. During auditing, the sub was set at 63hz. Price wise around 1k new. What do u guys think about it? Comparing it to used phd mf12, idq v2 which priced slightly cheaper and last but not the least jl w6v2 which priced about 2.3k new. Which is more worthwhile?

Also to pair it with either used genesis dual mono or tru tech t2.1 or helix a2? Which amp suits better? Thanks a mill.

Well thanks for the feedback, I'm getting the sub from mike so it should be original no doubts. Will be going for 4 ohm so power wise will be slacking a bit considering either tru t2.1 or genesis dual mono As the output will be 200w while the sub needs 250w rms. Helix a2 while is sufficient with 300w at 4 ohm. Also diamond d5 can be considered too as it is an amp for sub rite? Correct me if I'm wrong ya.

QUOTE(izso @ Sep 7 2011, 09:18 PM) Personally I'd go for the dual mono and the JLW3v3! HEhehe.. different people different tastes. The thing is the output for the dual mono is slacking in providing enough juice to fully utilized the JLW3v3. Will it be a waste to use the dual mono to power the sub?

Dont have any to audit so it is really a hard decision to make. Either helix a2 or genesis dual mono. Have to go blind on this so any1 audited both before? Which is better in term of sounding and performance?

QUOTE(zennn @ Sep 10 2011, 03:25 AM) QUOTE(izso @ Sep 12 2011, 08:35 AM) The Genesis Dual mono has plenty of character. Sound wise I think it's quite unique. Can't really explain it and with that sort of power it'll have no problems with almost any speaker. The Helix A2 is also a monster of an amp, but it's very clinical, very german - plain and simple sounding. It's very detailed, but lacks character. I used this to drive my Dynaudio tweeters in the past and it was bloody fantastic. Worked really well with my Dynaudio Mids too. So it really depends on how you match the fella (A2). Both amps are pretty good but the A2 is way larger in size (though the Genesis isn't that much smaller). Personally - since both amps are going to be used to drive a sub, I'd be pretty hard pressed to hear the musical difference between the two for a sub. Components is a different story. Well I'm gonna use either of the mentioned amp above to drive my component instead and use my current amp, tru t2.100 to drive the sub. So what about the 'different story' hehe. Currently using Rainbow cs265 profi vanadium phase plug as component. Personally I'm leaning towards the type of sound produced by dynaudio Esotec 242. What do u guys say?

I disagree, a subjective issue it is as the tuner have their own taste while we got our own thus the player will still have some to adjust n tune to their own preference hehe.

Any review for Db Drive Speed Series Spa 150.4 amp? Is it worthy of the price tag at 1.8k used unit?
