good info ckmoy007...
btw, does a 2 way coaxial speakers already have its own crossover?

if i have a HU, tweeters, midbase...does the package have crossover any sort? i need to add a extra crossover between the HU and speakers?
*
coaxial speakers have the most basic of passives, and the chaepest, which is usually a small capacitor that acts as a simple high pass filter for the tweeter.

if u buy a COMPONENT SET, it will include a passive crossover

if u buy them individually, the passive wont be included.

the type of crossover between amp and hu is called electronic crossover. if u have enough amplifier channels then u wont need a passive crossover. also, some players have inbuilt electronic xovers already.

example, in a 3 way system, u have a pair of tweets, pair of mids and a sub. to play active 3 way u need 6 channels of amps. usually one 4channel amp and one 2ch or monoblock amp for sub.

if u only have a 4ch amp, then u will need a passive xover. the passive goes in between amp and speaker. it divides the sound between the tweeter and the mids. (high range goes to tweet, midrange goes to the mids)

the kenko amp is cap ayam la, id suggest u save up some more to get a better amp

ckmoy
thanks for the bump, but me takut his budget not enuff

gilbert
the amp is around 1.1k, can nego bit la...

buffalo soldier,
sell your rear 3way spkr, then add to the 500 budget for your front components. if u already bought a pre-amp, then can sell that as well to increase front speaker budget. your player is ok already no need pre amp. for simple sq system all u need is a 4ch amp, a sub and front comps, thats all, keep it simple..

what is the amp specs? is it the 65W x 2 one?

the sst6.9 im assuming is a 6x9 spkr that u use at the back

and u say the pg45 is a 4 inch speaker? are u installing it in front?

i dont think the 4 inch spkr can be blown by that amp if its only 65W. if u prefer bass, then use it for just the 6x9 spkrs, power the 4" in front with the HU power.

if u want to get into SQ, u can power the 4" spkr with the amp, and use the HU power for the rear 6x9

i dont recommend powering both of them in series bcoz of the 3ohm 6x9

one more thing u can do is use a 2 way passive, but has to be custom made, lowpass and highpass around 300hz and suitable for 3ohm. this way, the 6x9 will play bass only, the 4inch will play all the mids and treble

not sure its 65Wx2, written there 65x4.
The amp is LW 4.500
http://www.mickeysautosound.com/multi-chan...er-lw4.500.html
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=748905&hl=

im using myvi, the 4 inch in the dashboard and 6x9 at rear board.both pg45 and sst6x9 have their own crossovers.

and already got a sub and a 2 ch amp for it.

just wondering my 4ch amp can power both my Pg45(http://www.amerion.com.my/items.asp?model=PG45) and SST6.9 without any problem?

pls enlighten me on the ohming matching. thanks

like that ok la, 4ch amp for 4 spkrs, and all four have their own crossovers.

Firstly, can i noe what is tweeter and crossover lol.... component sets comes with 2 speakers + 2 tweeters + 2 crossovers [but my car got 4 speakers [each speaker on each door T.T] so another 2 stock speakers how?

u can buy 2 sets of components, for front and back. usually i dont recommend speakers for the rear, but your car is large, so its ok la..

QUOTE(YoNgZ @ May 6 2009, 03:52 PM)
I've been told that i nid amp for both speakers + subwoofers... how does the 'power' of an amp affect both the speakers + subwoofers performance? [my friend told me that overated amp will burn a low-end speakers or woofers?] how about the enclousure of the subs? does the size and length of the enclousure matters? P/S i nid a capasitor? And what's the difference between a 12' n 15' [my friend told me 15' the bass not that KICK?]

good amp will have good power (clear and controlled) will make the speakers and subs perform well. sub enclosure have to follow manufacturer's recommendations. yes size and build quality matters, so make sure theyre up to specs. u dont need a capacitor, youre not running a high power system, plus your alternator is strong enuff already. yes id recommend a 12 inch sub too.

QUOTE(YoNgZ @ May 6 2009, 03:52 PM)
I'm driving a car with big space inside and i nid to choose carefully so that my sound system can perform to the max based on it's spec. I planned to get soundstreams AUDIO systems... is there any good recommendation for such big car to fit with?

N lastly, car player also affect the sounds right? after getting all the high-end stuff yet cannot maximize it's performance due to the player is kind of a waste T.T the main problem now is i dunno how to change my player? changing the stock player will affect anything or not?

Overall, anyone mind giving me some ideas on the setup?

Planning to install it asap.....nid some advices and i thanks anyone sincerely in advance for the help =D
id recommend getting a 4ch amp for the 2 sets of components, and a 12 inch sub, with a suitable 2ch or mono amp. for HU pls get a decent cd player with 3 rca outputs.

the 3ohm is ok since its connected independantly on its own channel.

yes there should be a fuse for your power cable close to the battery.

and yes monster cable is an ok brand, can also use stinger or steeetwire or audison. aura also can la if strict budget...

Existingly, my ICE everything are in stock standard. Budget is at below rm1k only.

I've thought of just replacing the stock speakers to a more better one, can this way work?

I love radio channels and slow sentimental love songs...strictly no hard metal or rocking songs.

yeah can also, look for component speaker set, around 700-1000 can get an ok one already, for beginner standard is good la, but since u will be running without amp, try to find one that doesnt require a lot of power, maybe something 50-80W RMS

i have helix esprit component set RM900, and focal access components rm750

a good SQ system can at least reproduce the whole audio frequency (20hz-20khz) with ease and with certain qualities. havent even got into good staging, imaging and tonal quality.

and its actually called an active sub, not passive. active bcoz the amp is inbuilt into the sub enclosure.

if an 8 inch active sub can achieve good SQ then id be dancing in the street, naked in the rain....

jimmy dont get too worried about class, just must know the amp good or not first. so just shop around and see what amp u can get that gives you 300W rms @ 2ohm. come back here and list what amps u found within the budget, then we recommend which one to get.

bukanmain yes u can upgrade step by step with HU first. after that i suggest get the front component speaker set first, and then amp and subwoofer.

ahhhhhhhhh...if true...such a waste for me buying pioneer over dls n hifonics.....
its so hard here to audition n compare between product here in penang...
try to join the penang sq tt, then u can learn from them a lot more than what u can read online.

join the autoworld forum ice section i think theres a thread for penang icers, or u can start a thread of your own and u can call for a tt yourself.

rogers is UK brand but made in china, as usual china very clever use name of home audio company that dont have any car audio..........anyway its sq is so-so only....

u cant have a sq setup without a sub, the active sub for under seat is only good for midbass only, not sub bass, plus it sounds pretty bad.
