hi, seeking a little help here. currently i wanted to find a decent HU to put into my kancil.
erm, the small single slot type.
budget around RM100+- not more than 200
looking for branded, blaupunkt, pioneer, jvc, etc etc..
just basic usage, listening to music, FM... not a big fan of loud sound... hehe, is just a kancil...

feature require... FM, CD, iPhone input, USB(if can fit into budget)

i just done a triton not long ago ..maybe u wanna try audit and get some idea on how to setup...

2k is ok ok... 3k will be easier and less headache for recommendation. Because you can get a better amp with 3k budget.

For that kinda price you're probably looking at China brands or 2nd hand units of Pioneers or Kenwoods. USB yes, iphone I really doubt it.

Guys need some opinions here. Just audited the coral sub, sound wise not bad can go quite low according to the spec. During auditing, the sub was set at 63hz. Price wise around 1k new. What do u guys think about it? Comparing it to used phd mf12, idq v2 which priced slightly cheaper and last but not the least jl w6v2 which priced about 2.3k new. Which is more worthwhile?

PJ/KJ i would recommend either KF audio or Audiocreations.

and go with alpine, forget about sony.
if its over rm600 budget, you can get a pretty damn good HU, along with the steering remote i guess.

Added on August 29, 2011, 2:16 amstick with a reputable brand good entry level component set and HU (if you dont need to replace HU, consider topping up a bit for a 4channel amp, then later you can just add a subwoofer once you got the money)

I just want some bass to kick a bit, so stock HU with subwoofer enough?

if you're ok with active subs, sure. else you'll need an amp/mono to power your passive sub. and passive subs are the real deal, active subs, personally id rather just get damn good comp sets that have good mids to provide that bass kick

yeah, I always thought of getting passive sub only.
so its okay just to have a sub with stock HU?

it wont be "just HU"

but if you already taken into account, then yeah, stock HU is "OK" too. good or not is another story
