Hi all. Im getting led tv next month.

But if im not mistaken, the old decoder will make the tv programs look like being cropped on led tv right? Cause the resolution smth like that. eg: may be watching Astro AEC. talking bout the logo, the 'AStro' word being cropped off, couldnt see.

So, i got to change to the HD decoder right? Can i just change to HD decoder, take back the packages im subscribing now and dont take those HD channels? I want the well fitted resolution on my led tv only.

What do u guys tink? Mind enlighten? smile.gif

Agree... pay RM150 one-time installation fee and get lifetime warranty on the B.yond PVR (500GB built-in)

you mean zoom function in your HDTV? Just don't select zoom, it will preserve SD video's 4:3 aspect ratio

After i waited for a week for the installer to call me on the upgrading to B.yond, but nobody call me. Finally, i called Astro n they gave me the contact no. for the installer assigned by them but the no. can't be contacted.

Complained to Astro again n this time I demand to look for another installer myself, but they not allow me to do so. N told me what they can do is to make a report on this matter, n say sorry to me ... i just need to wait again. sweat.gif

Never understand why you guys still using astro since they are giving you so much problems.
Problem like increase in price, upgrade to HD decoder with additional cost, harddisk compatibility problem, cannot power off the set for automatic update, old and recycle contents, so much advertisements, etc... and finally still have to pay them monthly fee. The damage is silly. And sound like living in stone age. You guys are victims of a tyrant.

Anyway, i have cut my astro long time ago since they wanted to charge me on upgrading to the HD decoder. I was so angry then, but it is a blessing in disguise because i am watching and streaming HD contents using media player now. I can even getting the latest contents,.. and not like astro .. you have to pay and then pay again for astro AOD.

Maybe it's your TV settings.
Old decoder will only output the 576i/4:3 aspect ratio.
Your LED TV try to upscale it into 16:9 by using auto-zoom function.
Try playing with your TV aspect ratio settings... notworthy.gif

I also using LCD TV with Astro standard decoder long time before Astro launched Byond, and I don't encounter that situation.
Set your LED TV aspect ratio tu 4:3 or 16:9 if you don't want a "waste of space" and to see a actor become "fatter" at your screen... laugh.gif

Hi guys,

I received a letter from astro saying my next bill will be RM132.95 instead of my current bill RM125.95 so I went to call Astro CS (Nadia) and ask her to change my packages to Super Pack 1.

So, 5 minutes later, I got the package already...my wife smiles because she got to watch Maharaja Lawak tongue.gif

Now, to my question...
Super Pack include HD & Recording service..so does this means I can swap my byond box with PVR box for free OR just have the ability to use PVR?

U need to pay RM150 for PVR set for promo until Sep'11. Else, you buy external HDD at approximately RM200++ for recording purpose using your normal byond set.

celestial movies is under new emperor package, you need to subscribe to the new emperor package or superpack 3 to view this channel. nothing to do with superpack 1 or 2.
