Yesterday I've called up Astro to upgrade my package to Super Pack 3 rclxms.gif
I've decided to swap my current byond box set to PVR box set icon_idea.gif
and the CS told me I have to pay RM300 to change the New PVR box set then I agreed with the deal... nod.gif

Today I read on this forum saying that Astro is doing the promotion price of RM150 to do the upgrading... shakehead.gif
Immediately I had call to Astro CS to clarify the promotion
But CS told me I've to know who the agent I'm dealing with..(I totally forgot the name already) doh.gif
Luckily the helpful CS lady's said she will help me to find out who is the agent was dealt with me rclxms.gif

why did u say the CS told u RM300? I just came back from Astro Centre, they told me RM300 too =.="
*
Yesterday the Astro CS agent was told me RM300..... sad.gif
Today I called again to double confirm the price and The CS said that they have doing the promotion now blink.gif
But the agent who was dealing with me does not know about the promotion rclxub.gif
So the agent call me back and said that I have only pay RM150 to do the upgrading rclxms.gif

I paid my subscription all the way till Dec-. So what is Astro going to do? Switch my package? Charge me more?

I only needed Dynasty and Learning but don't see that combination without paying for others that I don't need.
*
I think Astro will not switch your package.....you will be pay more according to your current selected channel rolleyes.gif
You can go to calculate by yourself on this page http://www.astro.com.my/mypackages/articles/art_5156.html
So we don't have so much chances but have to follow their good package doh.gif

btw, when will the new structure come into broadcast?

will the half price subscription of the second decoder still maintain even if the second decoder is a SD decorder ( the main is a PVR decoder )?

currently, i am on HD + recording +family + dynasty + 2 mini + sport, if i dun call astro to select my choice, wat will astro do to my subscription?

current billing structure, rm110.95(Family+2mini+Sports+Dynasty) + second decoder rm55.50 + PVR rm10 + HD service rm20 + Gov Tax rm11.19 , total = rm207.60

thanks

Effective on 11 July 2011, all new rates will be implemented on your new statement brows.gif
If you don't change you will pay more....unless you cut down some of the channel you don't want icon_rolleyes.gif

Mine have been installed from Byond set to PVR set on this morning.... rclxms.gif
The sad thing is because my Astro cable was concealed inside the wall and this PVR set need to run for 2 cables
if you want to record & watch the HD channel at the same time... doh.gif
No alternative I have to install another cable in my Living Room that is quite obvious one... cry.gif

based on your statement, i can assume that

1. if i subscribe to SP, i can simply attach any external hard disk drive to my byond decoder just to enable the PVR service

2. 2 LNB is not necessary for PVR service to work

correct me if i am wrong
*
1. Not all the external hard disk is compatible with the Byond PVR decoder.....please note!

2. Yes! it is not necessary, but you are not able to record up to two channels at one time and watch the current programme!!

I'm using Byond PVR with internal HDD and 2 tuners..
Based on my simple "experiment" just now..,
Without 2 cable be feed into both of it's tuners,
the decoder will always show SERVICES CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE.. Even the clock will reset to 00:00 which means no signal can be captured by the tuners...
You're forced to feed it with dual wire... doh.gif
That's why when u change to Byond PVR, astro will also change your LNB to dual-output...
*
So weird..... blink.gif
Mine Installer told me that I still can use back the existing cable for the Byond PVR decoder
But I'll not able to watch any HD channel and do any recording... shocking.gif
At the end...I have to choice for install another cable to made the decoder full utilize... rclxms.gif

Hey, anyone that already change to Beyond HD PVR? Do you need to input 2 cables from the satellite to the decoder? The technician told my sister (I was not at home when he came) need to input 2 cables for new decoder, and if not, then i will need to buy a device from Astro (300+), if i want to use back my old cable (only 1 cable). Got such thing 1 meh? And also they will not use casing for the cables installation, is that truth?
*
Yes! the device their offer to you is call Stacker De-Stacker & you still can use back your old cable without add another cable for the PVR decoder.

But sadly in my area, the installer don't know have this device... shakehead.gif & no choice I have to install another cable to my PVR decoder unsure.gif

Huh? so it is a must to use 2 cables lar for PVR? how about normal Beyond decoder? Btw, it costs more than RM300 for the stacker de-stacker that you were talking about...
*
Yes....because PVR decoder is running dual tuner so you will enable to record up to 2 programmes at the same time:

Yes...The stacker de-stacker cost is RM 300++ (according to the previous post mentioned) plus another RM150 installation fee then the total amount is RM450++ brows.gif

Why you need to do that??? rclxub.gif

I'm very hate to watching NTV7 due to the both subtitles are blocking half of the screen..... doh.gif

Anyone subscribed to Super Pack 3? It seems value for money if one already subscribed to HD service + dynasty package......

Today I got a mail from Astro promoting the Super Pack 3, i saw there is an option to upgrade to B.yond box FREE but upgrade to B.Yond PVR need to pay RM150 for installation fee? Why do they need to charge as I already have the B.yond, if I opt for first choice which is the B.yond upgrade what is the point?
*
Yes! Super Pack 3 is seems like value of money even though you can watch AOD also.... rclxms.gif

RM150 is the charges for changing your B.yond decoder to the 500GB storage B.yond PVR decoder which is including all the cable and dual LNB and etc!!! (Now is under promotion if not after September will be increase back to normal price of RM300) brows.gif
