I tried to my HSBC card to access the Premier lounge at KLIA but was denied. Reason given is because the card was not issued in Hong Kong. Is this true? If it is so, then this is a big disappointment. What a let down.

Only HSBC Premier MC issued by HSBC HK ? I wasn't aware that HSBC Premier MC gets free access to Plaza Premium Lounge...

Anyway, it is true that HSBC Premier World MasterCard doesn't give you free access to Plaza Premium Lounge anywhere in the world. Anyway, you may find THIS THREAD useful to you.

for cashback, get hsbc amanah cards. for higher points get visa signature. HSBC cards is really lousy nowadays in terms of benefit, better switch to Maybank 2 cards and OCBC titanium which give u higher rebates and points

I plan to cancel my HSBC Amanah soon. Their rebates is not competitive enough compared to other banks cc.

HSBC credit card sales girl just called me to confirm RM150 cash back is still ongoing, you must spend RM150 first within 6 weeks after your initial 3 swipes. And bank will rebate you in either 2nd/3rd statement.

Which means we have to pay RM50 GST + 3 swipes (assume RM10 each total RM 30) + RM150 (assume you swipe all RM150 in the selected places) = RM230 in the first month and pray hard you will get the cash back next month or in 3rd month.

If you spend only RM100 on the selected places, your can only get RM100 cash back, bank will not bear GST for customer.

One question the sales girl didn't answer me was if I do not spend in the next two months, is my balance debit RM150 or forfeited?

Any successful cardholder who claim RM150?? Mind to share your experience? Thanks.

Mpower platinum. i told her the terms posted online is "first come first serve", I even called to call centre to check, same answer.
But she claimed she has internal memo which cannot be shared to us that RM150 is a confirmed rebate if you swipe it within first 6 weeks, better if you swipe on the first day itself after you get your card.

Hi guys, I've been using Visa Gold for the past 6 years. I clear every transaction using Internet Banking.

Applied Mpower Plat card 2 weeks ago & I received it yesterday. I activated it straight away via phone.

Thing is though, when I log on to internet banking, the Mpower Plat account is not visible. Is there any extra steps to be done?

Guys, I tried my first swipe just now at a petrol station near my house. Just RM5 for petrol.

Suddenly I received an SMS from HSBC telling me that I've just made RM200 transaction. Anyone can explain this? Is this normal?

I haven't called HSBC yet to verify.

Yes, it is normal when you swiped at the petrol kiosk. They will 'hold' RM200 first (or other amount depending on petrol stations/banks) before posting the actual amount to your account.
