I have a HSBC Visa Gold. Today I online login into my account, it show that my card is Visa Platinum.
But, we will only receive the new card when renewal, right?!

just received this today. Sweet looking card

looks like only HSBC amanah offer platinum card, conventional HSBC only offer visa signature

HSBC has started to offer VISA Platinum again since the beginning of this month.

that mean visa gold -> visa platinum, visa classic -> visa gold ?? is it HSBC or HSBC amanah ?

you better check with them the terms and conditions on payment hierarchy before doing BT.

The lady said if I took up the offer the first 6 months is 0% interest. She said the 0% for 6 months plan is a new promotion that they are doing now and if fail to clear the balance with in that 6 months the customers will be charged a rate of 1.5% based on the outstanding balance.

I'm not aware of whats the current rate that HSBC is offering for the BT.

1.5% = 18% p.a, that's even higher than the standard 17.5%

However, like I said, you better ask if there is any payment hierarchy and understand what it means if you got outstanding balance.

why the word amanah?

HSBC Amanah is the name for their Islamic Banking arm and is used in the whole world where it offers islamic banking. Banks such as OCBC and Standard Chartered adopted their respective islamic names ([B]OCBC Al-Amin & Standard Chartered Saadiq)[/B] from Arabic names but HSBC got theirs from Bahasa

same thing happen to me. my card was upgraded from Classic to Gold last year.
I check my online status, it shows Visa Platinum. What's wrong??

FYI, they upgraded my card from classic to gold and din increase my credit limit.
my classic card is only RM3k limit, now gold also RM3k. I dont want to hold a RM3k platinum card

Because all existing HSBC Gold credit card users will be automatically upgraded to Platinum credit card. That's why.

Prolly why they didn't increase your limit could be reflected by your income p.a

my annual income increased quite a lot fyi, when i 1st apply the card, my basic is Rm1.8k, then i jump to another company with RM2.5k basic, now i moved to Singapore with salary >$2.6k SGD. imagine that 3k is really less than half of my current salary which makes me quite pissed off.
