now i have 2 internet connection, which is 1 is streamyx and another is unifi. both is running currently. my pc have 2 wireless adapter, so adapter A connect to unifi, and adapter B connect to streamyx. the question is, can i make bridge connection? or any tips to setup network load balancing? any guide to maximise my bandwidth with 2 WAN connection for single pc?

what is pfsense? something like network load balancing as well?

PPS also consume bandwidth, as well as streaming.
But if you play online game, unifi would be better latency if Fiber Optic Connection plus very good upload speed.

This is true , I should provide comparison between UniFi and Streamyx later on for the guys to compare

TM advise to setup All the unifi set together with phone and TV together. But in my case, I do not wish to have the ugly wiring or doing much hacking and concealing work to pull the cable all the way fr back of the house to the front living hall for IPTV. Is it possible if I install the unifi modem/wifi/phone at a location which is near to the TM pole while use a pair of Homeplug to wirelessly transfer the LAN port to the living hall for the IPTV (STB) set ?

arghhh... cannot tahan the slowdown on speed already.. its been a week and still the same due to "migration"..

run under 2mbps in VIP20.. totally unacceptable..

Is Unifi overloading the equipment? these idiots.

I'm having the same thing speedtest shows not more than 1mbps!

Do not sign up.

The speed would seem all fine. Then it starts going downhill after 2 or 3 months, where you get 700kb/s of download speed on speedtests on a VIP20 account.

They're biting more than they can chew.

I'm sure it is not everyone that is affected.Could be really due to some migration of platform.Anyone can confirm?

Of course la. This is to help the 1 race to make a living so that they won't end up jobless and commit crimes.

The whole HSBB project and Unifi was meant to provide job openings and opportunities to certain people for the country.
From the main contractor to the subcontrators and site installs.
*
I suffered from the same fate. Very junior contractors and very langsi so called "their boss" who couldn't care anything less despite being late for several hours.

I personally have no issues with the idea of creating jobs for everyone but I do not agree with the way this is being executed.
End of the day, everyone need to work for their money and realize the fact of market forces - if you can't make it then get out. Unfortunately protectionism, easy money, sub contracting is still pretty much the mentality of many due to the lure of easy money without doing anything. (or very little to earn a lot)

Irrespective of whoever the contractor is, they need to do a good job - period. Unfortunately, shoddy jobs are being tolerated coz the consumers are being forced with little choice.

Not the way to go towards developing the country with the wrong mindset and starting them young like this. Harsh words but that's the truth.

I have attached a screenshot of my download using unifi..

As you can see it is very unstable, going to zero a lot. It can also stay at 0 and fluctuate between 0 and 100 for a long time. Many times it times out and dies.

Of course, fluctuating and timing out and going to zero is normal, but with this connection it is happening excessively. Mind you it's a very good site I'm loading off of.

Also, I find that browsing becomes very slow (not during download) half the time, i.e. the connection is good and bad.

Router signal is very weak.

First I thought the slow speed was caused by Unifi server. Later i discover that the slow speed was actually caused by the distance between my Macbook and the router which is upstairs while my work station is downstairs.

I wonder why is this so since the router Dlink claims better coverage due to Wireless-N?

Is there any setting that i need to adjust in the router config to expand the horizon? TQ.

@hackwire,

My signal is very weak (mainly 2 bars, superficially fluctuates to 3 and 4) when I am just a few metres above the router. Problem is, I can reach high speeds, except that it always goes really low (to zero, time out) and affects browsing and downloads. Not stable at all.

When using another laptop from a different location equidistant from the router as the first, the connection is much better, and doesn't drop.

Upload isn't the same as download. I'm using the stock router.

Speedtest is not reliable, not even close. The speedtest value can be 3x or 4x the "good" average, and more than 5x or 6x the low average.

I'm not sure where I'm downloading from.

i would suggest to plug in rj45 to test and look at the graph again. this is what i did after the installer completed the installation. when i tested DIR615 using wireless, the speed can only reach 4Mbps. i tested to download some files, the speeds fluctuate. i straight away plug a cable and retested. guess what, full speed. i quickly turn off dir615 wireless and use my spare wireless router to act as AP only. now i can get the same speed as wired connection smile.gif
