what is pfsense? something like network load balancing as well?

Yes, you may.
First way, is you use two network card (LAN) or (Wifi) in one computer.
-1st Network connect to Streamyx, 2nd Network connect to Unifi. (Same Computer)
-Try to download using BT or Multiple download manager.
*this will cost you less money on your investment.

Second way, is you go and purchase "Load Balancer" TP-LINK TL-R480T+ ( LOAD BALANCE / 2WAN / 3LAN ) RM399
*
owh, do u mean only can happen is use LAN and Wireless, cannot use both Wireless?

owh, i have extra account streamyx which my friend lend it to me currently. then, after installing unifi, they not my streamyx still there although my streamyx account already been terminated. guess i just want to try. now messing the setup bridging both wireless adapter and try to configure the script so both adapter can work as load-balancing. just try try only. smile.gif

it is really advisable to change to tp-link router due so many complaint have been made for D-link router. guess for price tag below less than RM100 should be really bargain and the performance much better than DIR-615. just my 2cent.

Hey... People chose the easy way because dealing with TM is a piece of MESS. They degil enough and won't change the router so easily. And... If not to go the easy way, people are wasting their money paying the monthly bill yet can't enjoy them. In long run, they lose more than going the "hard" way. Get what I mean. My router so far so good... Just random disconnection once in few days...

If we can afford it I don't see why we shouldn't buy it since it is better than TM's DIR615.
Heck some even buy those expensive (compared to other alternatives) Mikrotik products!

+1 both of u bro.

Guys, switching routers means no more IPTV right?
*
depends by what router u want to switch. if u follow klseet page, using TP-Link wont have any problem with IPTV. 100% like DIR-615 but more efficient and stable from my point of view.

my contractor who came to install my unifi previously said, they charge starting RM300 if need to do wiring at the roof. then i opted as simple installation, free of charge. mine is about 18.8m, they have their own devices to check the lenght of wire.

LOL I downloaded 144 gb in 1 day and I'm sure I'm not a big downloader.  whistling.gif
No way its because of your neighbours , I have unifi for 2 months and it's happening at the same time for many users.
My connection was fine, 2 days ago it became unstable.
It has to be a problem from TM !
*
keke cannot do like that due many ppl using under 1 roof. even my DHCP list is about 9 ip connected. lol. some more my siblings love to watch youtube, streaming and some of them facebooking or blogging. just can use full bandwidth from 1am to 6am. smile.gif

what kind of speed are u getting once u changed to tp-link? i'm considering to change as well smile.gif
*
LAN, about 600~700kbps torrent. sometimes can upto 1mbps. (tweaks, traffic shaper etc).
Wireless, signal excellent, upto 500~600kpbs torrent. sometimes direct download can achieve 800kpbs.

seed more than 10.

uptime: more than 3 days, no disconnection at all.

note: my friend also have unifi, area Bukit Rahman Putra. but using DIR-615, using wireless always dc. somehow his house is bungalow. using LAN, lol uptime not more than 1 day. maybe overheated? lastly they put at air-cond room (yeah they got tv room 24/7 air-cond room). can last about 2 days, period. but wireless always dc though.

this is my personal experience. thats why after i subscribe to unifi, i just went to All IT Ikano buying TP-Link router. i dont want to waste my bandwidth. for what having faster internet speed but always dc? lol

as my knowledge so far, its not we determine by speed of wireless. when u at task manager, go to networking tab, the you will see your network adapter graph. the point is, we need to look the network utilization. even u have 300Mbps for link speed, but the network utilization is min 0.01% and max 1%, just a waste of it. but somehow, if you connected the wireless, getting link speed 36Mbps but the Network utilization is more than 5%, i can say its pretty good already. as for me, (connected via wireless) current Link speed is about 108Mbps but my network utilization average is 6%. do the math.

correct me if im wrong. but previously working at IT field, some1 who expert in Modem/Router highlight this. and doing some personal research and what i can say we need to depend the Network Utilization. If im not mistaken, good router and good wireless adapter will get more through Network utilization. as for my case, my router is TP-Link and my Wi-Fi adapter also TP-Link brand.

apologize if my research is wrong. as i said some1 previously highlight this about 3 years ago. smile.gif

erm about that, lets assume got interference between yours and the router. example, could be now u away 2 meters but do remember, maybe there is no interference. how about suddenly, got interference, maybe from other wi-fi network. or could be your hp devices, trying to get wireless connection or 3g connection. maybe some1 trying to call u then interference wave is there? i dont know much about it but last time, trying 12db antena for wireless purpose, the connection seems dead when the some1 calling my hp. i also dont have a clue bout it until i test it test it then i realize it was my phone making my connection dead. just rough idea. but if you really not satisfy with your router, how about change it to better 1? currently only have TP-link (at least in Malaysia market and easy to find) router at the moment. otherwise, u may think to plug in your LAN cable to fix your problem biggrin.gif
