Hi sifus,

If I got more than 5 devices to connect (wired), the RG only has 4 ports to connect to, can I connect the 5th device to the BTU directly?

I tried connecting my PC to BTU directly but it does not work, can't get online.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Is it true that new Unifi installations take 2 months+, or does that only apply to landed properties needing FTTH wiring?

I live in an apartment complex. Will a VDSL2 installation be faster?

Transfer of UniFi will cost RM300, which I believe covers transfer, installation and activation at new site.

Starting a new subscription at new site will get you free installation and activation (whilst promotion lasts), but terminating UniFi within 2 years at old site will incur a penalty RM500.

Unless you are willing to wait until you move to apply for UniFi, be prepared to cough up some money.

I believe the RM300 only covers the transfer of the service. You are expected, to carry over the equipment from the old site. You're not going to be given new stuff just because you moved, unless of course, it requires a new service implementation - i.e. landed to high-rise or vice versa.

You probably need to clarify with TM and/or the UniFi people on the nitty-gritties.

Wonder how long does it takes for the installation appointment. The earliest time slot I found for my area is end of June.

As mentioned before, it depends on where you are.... and who you know.

You would have to wait longer in new UniFi areas and areas with high-demand. Sadly, it seems that UniFi aren't savvy enough to spread their engineers/installers around depending on uptake.

It also helps if you know someone in TM who can expedite matters for you.
