finally installed unifi in my house.took them almost 3hours 30minutes to complete.they suppose manage to complete everything in 3 hours.but after tested everything, and i even signed on the agreement, they detected something wrong with the wiring and need to redo everything.lucky they are responsible enough to check on the wiring again.i didn't ask whats wrong but i assume that the wire is faulty because he mention something ' wire ni sensitive'

price: RM189 from C-Zone
For unifi: short answer is NO at the moment unless you go through the DIR615 is VLAN bridge. But as pointed out by klseet, Asus is coming out with a firmware that can natively support unifi but the firmware is still in Beta stage and not released to public yet.
*
So I should go for the TP-LINK router.
What do you think ? Should I wait for Asus ?

Another one favor :

Can somebody help me to forward my port. I'm using DIR 615. I want to forward my port number 21 to my NAS. So can I use FTP function.
Which mean, I can enter my storage from other place.

Anyone can help me ? We can do it through team viewer.

You can always just grab the asus straight and use it for the moment by linking it back to DIR615 and wait for the firmware release then just update it.

Currently TPLINK is the most economical replacement. Asus better or not cant say as the firmware doesn't support Unifi at the moment.

Not all channels if you just got our unifi. If you installed last year before Sept then u get all channels FOC.

Been getting quite some emails/PMs, been busy on work sweat.gif , just thinking to post here to update.

For ASUS RT-N13U-B1
- tested & using it since Saturday, generally not major problem found
- tested wifi, so far acceptable to me, no hang (will post something later when I'm free)
- USB2 function tested on ext HDD & the Download Manager, seem can download but not upload
- still struggling to understand how the QoS works....

Overall, the beta seem to be ok, even same chip with the DIR-615 with internal antenna, the wifi performance is still good, not as hot than the DIR-615, could be the overall hardware board design & material used.

Still need to re-confirm certain things with their engineer, also to find myself sometime on it, hopefully can post the beta soon.

For TP-Link TL-WR841ND V7
Soon there will be official packaging available in the open market!

On the TL-WR1043ND
Strangely I don't know where you guys got the information about custom firmware for this unit, please note currently there is NO custom firmware from TPL on this unit, yet.

Through the help of Rizvanrp, he has tested on OpenWRT, internet vlan.500 can work but not the IPTV. He has posted some few months back that the problem seem due to the driver issue on the Realtek switch chip.

Many others also seem to have similar problem on dd-wrt when create vlan tagging.

I've communicated with TPL R&D team, they are still busy, I'll update further once they started to work on it.
Since they already have previous experience, I guess it won't take too long for them to come out the custom

TM seem to have some kind of open tender lately, so many manufacturers are participating, we'll have more choices in open market soon smile.gif
Guess finally TM has wake up, could have done this right from the beginning.

If you search & check past posts, pr0di9y had posted it:

Through Riz's help, this is how I secure my HG850a:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry36190536

There is really nothing much can do on the HG850a, at least I've gave up already.
Furthermore, I would really suggest don't mess with the BTU/VDSL, it's TM property, anything wrong might cause you trouble. shakehead.gif

Finally can solve this problem...

just add no cdp enable at dialer interface and change the lan network to 192.168.1.0 network (previously 192.168.0.0)

dunno why lan network affect the thing but it something with tm i think.

Now i want to use dlink as a dump AP. Anyone manage to configure it as a dump AP??

Powered on my IPTV STB, downloaded a new update and now I'm watching the new channels. Although the Nat Geo Adventure channel is in HD, the quality is just disappointing. Just now a program wasn't even in full screen. sweat.gif

But I must say the MTVN in HD is quite good, maybe because Astro still doesn't have any HD channel for MTV. laugh.gif

u mean dumb AP rite? dont use DIR-615 as an AP because that's the main reason people change to other router. smile.gif

192.168.0.0 and 192.168.1.0 is a big different! i dont think TM got anything to do with it. I am not even using 192 ip for my LAN smile.gif

flash dlink with their stock (from Dlink) and set it as bridge/AP mode, if any. Sorry I am not sure how the stock AP looks like, but you can give a try. Or maybe flash it with custom DDRWT for a more stable signal.

I am a new UNIFI user using the Huawei HG850a Gpon terminal and Dlink 615 router. Need some advice on the usage of the unused ports.
HUAWEI
======
How to use the 3 unused LAN ports on the HG850a for wired PC? Connected to PC but can't access.

What is the use of the second RJ11 port? Doesn't seems to work for phone connection.
Would like to add a fax machine on the second line.

DLINK
=====
How to use the USB port on the DLink615 for shared printer?

Is it true that the 15m fibre cable from FTB to BTU and the 15m RJ45 cable from BTU to RG are free ? I think i have been short changed.

For a double storey link house would it be better to install both the Huawei850a and the Dlink615 on the ground floor where most internet accesses are done ?

Thanks in advance.

Did anyone of you are fortunate to get rebates from TM Unifi before ?
i have been waiting for evaluation from them for the past 2 months with proof provided but no response so far.

im doing a survey here. seems like no one really request waiver or rebates from tm unifi before.can i draw a conclusion that basically everyone are satisfied with unifi after installation and didn't encounter any service disconnection or interruption of network. only me facing service disconnection after installation?

Wow! UNIFI is doing quite a pretty good job and very minor to see people claiming for rebates or waiver.

u can only used port 1 which act as a trunk port that transport vlan 500 and vlan 600 to DLINK, the rest of the port is not configured, hence it's unusable. You can only used the port from dlink (port 1-3) to connect to all your network appliances. Second RJ11 is used as fax, and some said as 2nd line, hence you can't use it for phone.

USB port for DLINK manual to use share printer i think is on the CD.
i only know 15M fiber from FTB to BTU is free, as from RJ45 i have no idea as i personally pulled all the RJ45 myself to welcome the UNIFI, as i don't trust TM workmanship. I got no experience in fiber so no choice i need the TM guy to do it. tongue.gif
