I understand and of course if you compare a proper WC system, these would definitely turn out less effective.
What I'd like to know is how "bad" is bad? Does it mean the R120 performs worse than Ultra Extreme for example? Is it on par, etc? These are the things and for somenoe that has used a high end air cooling and such kits, perhaps they can share their actual experiences.
*
i would say with teh right fan the TR EX can beat these kits... i like the R120 because of its compactness and ease of use... and its good for daily usage..depends on wat u want actully.. a garang looking system or a simple understated rig...

yes they are not bad.. just the pump is a big problem with budget kits... they have to skimp on the pump to save costs

i know can order direct through those sites, but then the shipping costs usually cost a bomb too lolz, like 50USD right? sweat.gif sweat.gif
what shipping method you used?
*
USPS EMS.. Yeah.. Its can get quite expensive. That's why, u need to order in bulk. So that can save more on the shipping.

Though it is expensive, but it is quite worth cuz some of the stuff is impossible to get in our region sad.gif

D4 and D5 are almost identical except that D5 produces less heat.

Not sure about the D4 being the weaker sibling but im using it and it works like charm so far. *touchwood*
*
Hmmmm.... Thanks for the heads up.. I will do more research. As I also 'heard' from friend saying that D4 is weaker than D5.

I'm just curious if anyone here tried out those basic water cooling kits from Thermaltake and Cooler Master. I wonder how do they perform smile.gif
*
Personally, I never use those WC before. But from what I read and observe, those WC set performance is almost on par with those high end air cooling.

So it is not worth the effort and hassle if u plan to WC with those WC set. Not to mention, those WC set's pump have high failure and return rate.

To me, if want to go for WC only go for the best else rather stick with high end air cooling. Less hassle and peace at mind smile.gif

Thanks irangan. The DTEK block looks very nice smile.gif It seems that people normally get Swiftech pumps (12V DC) compared to Eheim or other AC pumps already.

DB-1 is sufficient for CPU only or CPU and GPU cooling, especially for those using low restrictive block, i oso juz got a DB-1 from metalzone to setup my 2nd loop juz for cooling of NB and GPU while my D4 will be using on another loop cooling down juz the CPU. Will post pics here after everything have arrive and finish setting up my new system, all the stuffs will cramp inside my Stacker STC-01 case... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Err.... Alphacool, dangerden and so on? As long you can take in certain quantity, you can always contact Laing and put ur name as brand on those DC pump. Hehe.
