i'd say aluminium for good temperature .
it does contribute in thermal surrounds .

If you want a cheap and good case for WC then it's the HAF932 biggrin.gif Direct triple radiator mount at the top. However, this case is darn heavy - made from SECC.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Actually I've benn thinking of this casing too. Cheap but heavy in weight.

I'm thinking, should V really concern bout the weight of a non-mobile PC since I'm not gonna move my PC around occasionally and I'm not participate in any LAN party.

Aside frm lightweight, alluminium also has better electronic interference sheilding, tht is the main reason if I'm to go for alluminium casing instead of it's weight.

If you want good and light ones there are plenty but obviously it'll be a lot more expensive smile.gif

maybe make ur own casing if u dont like the current ones?
lian li and silverstone alu cases are pricey anyway.. well, no pain, no gain

i was dreaming of mine made of wood before.. drool.gif

too bad it's too costly.. maybe when i'm a bit older i'll forge one tongue.gif

Wood? Ya good since it's a good insulator thumbup.gif

My dream was WC casing built by marble stone brows.gif

doh.gif , out topic plak.

Lets go back to WC casing.....

naa sound-proofing not really important to me .
for me, as long as it performs well i dont really mind a bit of noise .

dude, casing does affect the temperature .
gotta learn the airflow inside the casing as well .
it contributes in helping to lower down the temperature .

U were refering to casing more than 1k bucks? I can only think of the TJ07 and the Obsidian 800D. Cheaper one would be the PC-A77.

As for the TJ07, I'm not sure whether thick radiators (thicker than Swiftech MCR)can be fitted on top of the casing but as for the Obsidian 800D, I'm pretty sure it has no problem of doing this.

Talking about radiator fitted on top of the casing, which is the better orientation of the attached fan(s), pulling outside cool air into the casing thru radiator or pushing hot air of the radiator away from the casing?

Since hot air raises, I would personally think tht the second does make more sense despite this might lower the efficiency of the radiator since it should be blown by cool air instead of hot air frm the inside of the casing.

But consider at the ambient temperature within the casing of wc setup is not as high as hsf cooled setup, I mean no heat exchange process being done inside the casing, how hot would be the temperature inside wc cooled casing?

What could be the efficiency difference on the radiator between this two ways air flow orientation?

i've read somewhere on the internet saying that its a tad bit better if u do pull config instead of push .
there's some sense in it but i dont think there's a lot of different .
probably 0.5C at most .

btw, if u want to mount internally, of course its obsidian but the price will make u go GA GA .
i'd say better wait for HAF X or take the HAF932 .
personally i think its quite a good casing for watercooling .

and 360 rad should be enough to tame cpu + mobo + single GC .

a mid-high rpm fan with good stattic should be better doing push (scythe GT, kazes, noiseblockers, triebwerks).. while if u have low-mid rpm fan and a spare shroud brows.gif .. u should do pull..
thats what I've been reading about fans on radiators all this while.. advantage of doing pull is less sound omited (sound from the push of air thru a radiator)

i think most full tower cases can be moded to fit a atleast 360 radiator nod.gif (antec,haf,lianli,lancool,thermaltake,etc3)..
just love the work of mounting a 360 radiator on top and covering it with a koolance shroud rclxm9.gif

a 360 might be handle a cpu+motherboard.. but i really doubt it'll handle a GC hmm.gif

imagine if someone has an i7, X58 chipset + mosfets.. and a high end graphic card.. sweat.gif

maybe if it's AMD, might be doable tongue.gif..
