hmm... its a good thing that your hardwares survived bro. Didnt ur mobo shut down itself when the temp rises? i mean, when ur pump went dead, im pretty sure ur temp will go up like crazy which will trigger the alarm on your motherboard...

Owww... Sorry to hear what happened amd_hardcore.

Did you set a shutdown temperature on your motherboard (means when the temperature reaches a certain level, it will hard shut down)? I feel this is VERY important, regardless of whether you are running air cooling or water cooling. Pump or fan failures can be disastrous if it is not detected (can be via rise of temperatures). The water can start to heat up or boil and burst it's tubes/barbs/whatever connections (due to excessive pressure buildup).

haha just a strange idea, may be i can use compressed air in cooling loop instead of water..... see how well it goes.....

Don't try it. Air is the worst conductor. And water pumps cannot pump air.

thx for the info, doom, metalzone and aoinatsume, i came across this this push thing while i was working..

let me go study and see how restrictive these small bard are..... this way my setup would be much more flexible compare to conventional method of WC clamps.... i would like to maintain my slidable mobo tray function with WC setup.....so only method i can think of is those push fitting would be my best choice.

haha just a strange idea, may be i can use compressed air in cooling loop instead of water..... see how well it goes.....

you might be better off with air cooling if u plan to use compressed air sweat.gif
totally defy a watercooling setup by replacing liquid with something else.

Sad to hear what happen to fellow friend sad.gif Hanging tight dude..

Just some update from my wc journey. biggrin.gif
Bought Apgee GT from Aoinatsume(thanx bro)..I have high hope for it since its surely better than my homemade block.
So install it carefully.Guess what!! Temp just low about 1-2c only...Im really sad at 1st..Nearly fedup..bu i keep my cool.I do suspect the radiator as the culprit but I wont really convince enuff about it.
So today in desperate attempt to get more from my Apogee and to prove that its not radiator issue.
I embarked to lap my Apogee and my beloved F3!!.Well the reason I wanted to do this is because,earlier when installing the AG(Apogee GT)
I realise that the contact btw AG and my proc is rather less...Im not sure why but seems like somethingis not really flat.Im not sure if its the AG or the proc.

So I did it! the wb and the proc is in a very flat and smooth.Then i realised the result we gonna get from bowed AG.
So since the AG is already out.I just change the o-ring to thicker one to make it bowed.

Results is very good! considering the before and after result.

Before:
Idle=38c
Load=50-52

After:
Idle 34c
Load=42c

I am very2 satisfied with the result

Hi CV6149, I'd say the reason for your temperature drop is because you lapped ur CPU IHS. I never advice lapping all recent Swiftech waterblocks as they are already precision-lapped to 0.0003" flatness by machine; better than hand/manual lapping can ever achieve. So lapping manually may probably worsen it instead of improving it.

EDIT: oh and also to add, don't lap the FuZion either. As it's designed to have a slight convex shape to the baseplate to improve contact on IHS CPU's. So if you lap it, you no longer have the convex shape for optimal IHS contact. Unless, you decide to mill a stepped area smaller than the IHS size to collaborate with the die size, don't lap it.

1 foot = 305mm. so 3 feet = 915mm... a little less than 1 m.
but this is not the trade zone leh. pm.

yes.
their apogee GTX comes already bowed. and their apogee GT includes an extra thicker O-ring to bow it.
the FuZion also has a convex shape to it's baseplate as i mentioned earlier.
these companies all know that on IHS CPU's, a convex baseplate can perform better.

But before you jump to GTX Wagon, please bear in mind that GTX block have some Corrosion issue now due to its aluminium top. Though its havent be proven, but I do think it is better to stay away from GTX at least for now unless u have the extra cash for its copper tops smile.gif
