ok, since i oc my proc sumore (e6600 L631A) at 400fsb x 9 @ 1.5250vcore (bios), idle near 50 load near 70... i'm not sure if running on air cooling is feasible... i like to know if any1 has experience with big big air cooler like thermalrite ultra 120 extrem is capable to do so??? n will simple wc kit consist of good cpu block (swiftech/koolance/DD/etc) with single 120mm x 120mm radiator + 1 x 120mm fan with silent pump can perform better??? i don't want major noise... so both my prospect solution only consist 1 x 120mm fan... my case has 1 x 120mm fan inlet, 1 x 120mm + 1 x 80mm outlet...

hmm, anyone here can post or share some tricks or guide on getting the apogee gt to fit with the larger o-ring so will get a bowed gt instead of normal flat apogee gt block? i tried before but it seems the o-ring are hard to fit it in, any pro's here can give me some guide or hint?

IIRC, once u bowed ur gt, u cant go back. n IIRC again, its not a larger O-Ring, it's a "fat" O-Ring w/ the same size as the original.

Putting those fatter wan, n thightening it until no turn can be made, that'll make the copper block bend at the outer side since pressure from the barb greater at the middle.

those china made pure copper cpu block ok a??? only cost rm70 in china (RMB150)... my bro in law saw 1 ther... still planning to try my water tank wc.. my room is in the middle of renovation... hahaha... i've changed the tank size to 200 gallon... i'll juz run tap water... the big water pump confirm functioning... n it got control for adjustment...

better dun take d risk..
get a better one. swiftech , DD or EK...etc

not very pro..
but maybe a good as swiftech CPU block, 2x120 rad. make it 2 x120 fan. get a fan controller.. 1/2" tubing. silent pump, D5 should be good and reliable.
as for 2x120mm rad. maybe is a good choice for future upgrade. if u wan add a GPU block.keke...

BTW..wats the 80mm fan doing in ur case? sucking air upward???
just remove it if unnecessary. smaller fan, higher rpm = more noise.

If you are willingly to spend and get yourself a decent set of WC, there is no chance any air cooling in the world can challenge WC performance.

If you plan to cool your CPU only, just get urself a good block like (AquaExtreme MP-05 or DTek Fuzion), a good pump like (DB1 or MP655 or MP355 with modded top) and a decent dual rad like (Swiftech MCR220 or Cooltek Dual).

If you really want a silent setup, get those Thermochill Rad PA120.2 or PA120.3. It perform really really well with low CFM fan. Low CFM / Pressure fan = Lower dba smile.gif

Buy those medical grade distilled water and add some anti alga solution like Hydrx.

According to some forum, keep your loops from sunlight will slow down the alga growth too.

well... you can "unbow" it by replacing back the thinner O-ring. but... the base will no longer be perfectly flat.

clouding has been a problem for ages. i know, its frustrating me as well. I might wanna buy those tygon B-44-3 beverage tubings. its supposed to have a non-wetting surface which should prevent anything from sticking to the tubing walls. anybody up to joining me?

EDIT: in the end i might try using the silver anti microbial tubings for some parts and R3603 for some parts... hmm

What about UV CCFL? blink.gif
I've heard that those UV lights used in the aquarium will slow down the alga growth, does UV CCFL that we use in our casing work at the same way as the UV Light used in the aquarium? blink.gif

Mostly, those so called uv coolant would only result in milky coloured tubings. Better if you use 100% distilled water in the first place.

if using distilled water, still need to top up with some radiator coolant rite, to prevent rusting..
