QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ Mar 10 2007, 12:39 PM) Anyone experience 100% loading on explorer.exe in Vista? I checked up the net, most said due the search engine when you want to search something. I'm having that problem when want to open a folder with movie inside. Very buggy, making me switch back to XP. So far, max of utilising ram of 85% only. Using 1GB of ram. I wonder if i were to purchase another 1GB of ram, will it cut it to half? Say like now idle mode is 45%, will adding another 1GB becomes 20%+? Still considering to change as my Notebook consist of 512mb + 512mb liau. So if wan 2GB must sell off 512+ 512 ram first lah..Hai..

what is wrong with VISTA actually? i am very frustrated here;
i wan copy a 500mb file into a pendrive and it took 20mins still havent finish. I tried it in WinXp and it was 5x faster....5 mins only. It seems to be scanning something? 'calculating time remaining'.
plus everytime i wan move files to recycle bin, install tiny puny programs in VISTA...a confirmation screen will come out.
anyone knows how to disable all this shit?

QUOTE(Joey-kun @ Mar 10 2007, 10:54 PM) zomg. I'm staying away from vista until they fixed the memory problem. its absolutely normal, nth to be shocked. Dont ever believe that those cheap laptops with 512 DDR2, running vista home basic can perform as good as XP Pro running on the same laptop. At least 1 GB is needed for all editions, and 2 GB is currently the affordable performance solution.

it means windows has just utilized 35% of RAM, not left with 35% of ram

for those who said Vista is using too much memory: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000688.htmlbasically, it is a good thing because Vista is utilizing all the memory without wasting it.

No, look in the gamers hideout section, there is a thread on games that run on Vista. All EA games have been proven runable.

This is causing by Vista and security software such as Norton Internet Security and Mcafee Security Center. Do you have any security software running?

hey vista users.
have a question here.
i'm planning to install a dual-booting vista+xp.
the question(s) that i have:
1. Which one will be considered as the main OS? 2. Can i just run the programs that i have ALREADY installed in the XP partition in Vista? ( eg. games, image processing etc etc) 3. If i can, how? 4. Does vista has any performance caveats? Lag, memory hog etc etc.
Going to hoard the drivers before attempting to install Vista. Also gonna wait the V-Sifu ( lol?) in LY.net to answer my questions first too.
thx

I been using Windows XP for many year till I change to Windows Vista and Windows XP consume less memory than Windows Vista. You need to experience yourself before making the assumptions. Your PC slow because you didn't do a well maintainance on it. This post has been edited by WingKalimdor: Mar 11 2007, 12:01 PM
