I've never bought a single game or software in my life.....And Vista is not going to be the first....Just ahem downloaded ahem version of Vista,and going to give it a try..

For NFS carbon, go into the game installation folder, find the folder MOVIES and rename it. The game crashes as it makes a TEMP file for the Movies CG to load, but as Vista uses different dir than XP, it cannot find the TEMP folder

Guys I am using a Vista laptop with T7200 and 2 GB Ram, it takes me 50 secs++ to boot up windows and 6 secs ++ to open a wma file, is this normal? For me it is "slow"...

1. is it a clean installation or upgrade installation ?
2. it takes time for my laptop to open a media file as well.. around 3~4secs

guess theres too many useless apps came with the system.. i'd suggest u to do a clean installation if its possible.. smile.gif i'm using a 6400 as well and my boot time is around 5secs from the login screen to finish load

anyone has this "COM surrogate" error when playing divx files?
weird enough is that the thing crashes but the video plays fine

How about opening an audio file, how long it will take?
I have another Toshiba with core duo processor, windows XP, it actually opens instantly.

fx_53_xt: yea i get that problem quite frequently already... its the codec thats giving out the problem it seems..happens to other media files as well...

vt928: audio file opens immediately unlike video files

the vienna name will be changed, if not mistaken cuz the name has been taken by other product.

2009 is too near. maybe an update to Vista just like the crappy ME to win98? laugh.gif

i read that vista calculate time before transfering files, a folder of 23 000 file take 20 min to transfers, about 10min was for calculation, way to go MS.

currently im planing to buy ori vista now.. anyone can prefer me where to buy? i saw czone selling home premium DVD for rm395 only.. i heard that home premium should selling at rm650+ right? is it that 1 they selling is oem/retail ? or just upgrade only?

if upgrade only, what should i hav in order to upgrade to it? do i need a ori xp pro/mce to upgrade? or just any pirated xp?
