QUOTE(Red Maniac @ Feb 8 2007, 09:52 AM) To those who is using the retail version of Vista Home/Business/Ultimate, please tell us the 'build' version of your Vista. Wonder if it is the same build (6000) as the Vista RTM? my "ahem" version is 6.0.6000 which i think is retail and is on "unlimited" trial and i don't think it will delete anything without asking permission first. even renaming a file need permission. stupid UAC |

@ahdu
read previous posts before posting @dattebayo on my pc, usually 3-5secs but if just finish fresh installation, need longer time, around 3mins for sorting up the settings and drivers. if u didn't formatted the drive used for XP, vista automatically recognized it as dual boot system. @kingvui78 try vista manager for tweaking. for maintainence, havent try tuneup07 on it though. forgot to try it for graphic overclocking, forget bout it. new working method of driver prevent it. atitool, rivatuner, etc all doesn't work. |

QUOTE(woopypooky @ Feb 17 2007, 01:50 PM) why is window vista defragmenting so slow? i used xp last time, and i can defrag a drive of 80Gb in 1 min, now i defrag it in vista, 30 min already. 1min? lol i don't think it actually defrag your hdd or u defrag every 6 hours of pc usage.use Perfectdisk and see whether got different o not.i also got 1 more problem here, i cant play .rmvb files anymore with real one player, apparently it doesnt support vista. try use codec pack like K-Lite Mega codec pack. it's compatible with vista and not only play rmvb but almost all media file u can think of. QUOTE(Xefron @ Feb 17 2007, 02:02 PM) what version of vista? build? never happen before. crash but still can be restarted |

actually x360 games are developed with XNA, the same package use to develop new games on vista. some sort like unified code that can be used on both pc and x360. therefore basically x360 games playable on pc IF the games develop using XNA Studio.
btw, can download the software and develop your own game if u want to do so |

QUOTE(adriankhoo153 @ Mar 9 2007, 11:01 AM) My Vista after start up shows ram reading of 80%++. Is this normal? But after bout a minute it will go down to about 50% i think it scan idle processes and threads and cache it to free up ram.BTW, for antivirus, i use Smantec Antivirus. work since vista beta->rc->retail it's not the same as norton antivirus though. the interface just plain ol win98 era cuz it's meant for corporate use. but at least it do its job properly |

QUOTE(williamwong @ Mar 14 2007, 01:39 PM) fast and simple question. does vista ultimate require diff hardware specs? i'm currently on *ahem* Home Premium and getting a score of 3.0. want to try *ahem* ultimate. so uhm, i think its possible but will it cause my rig to lag like ballz? all vista basically same performance except home basic. difference is the extra tools or apps that came with it. |
