How long did it takes? Mine still no response after a week, check via customer line but it answered "No application from this IC number". What the heck...  vmad.gif

better call up the agent or customer service then. It took around 2-3 weeks i think. I went to korea after applying and the agent sms/call me to submit my utility bill.

I just send them a copy via email with my unifi ebill..haha.

Added on February 21, 2012, 7:28 pmso far all my card applications quite smooth ocbc, citibank, hsbc, maybank etc.

I received SMS stated that "Welcome to OCBC! Your new credit card and pin are on the way to you."

This is the strictest card I had ever applied for.

Because this card required my latest 3 months salary slip while others are not.(HSBC, CIMB, SCB, Hong Leong, MBF)

BTW, I plan to cancel CIMB, Hong Leong and MBF.
Although HSBC is not good in the rewarding scheme, but I like their pleasant cs.

Starting 2012 BN needs all the doc for new application. If the bank just submitted the application without doc, the application will be questioned by BN. I have given up my application to May2 cards coz so troublesome

Indeed it is the strictest. my UOB and OCBC application submitted with same doc. UOB approved and OCBC rejected. Took me 1 month plus to get OCBC to approve my card. Finally my effort paid off ;D

If you don't have any credit cards previously, it's likely that ocbc will reject your application. After second attempt, they will approved.

U are clever master.
U have obtained most of the good cards.(MBB2Amex, OCBC, UOB).

I m in the process of applying MBB2Amex. Btw, MBB does not require my 3 months salary slip, just using an existing credit card (over one year) as supporting.
Don't know later on whether they will request my 3 months salary slip as someone mentioned that it is the rule of Bank Negara in Year 2012 as a prove of salary over RM3000.

i got this sms too but not worth to spend so much on this card cz sure max out RM50/month easily..

i dunno how u guys get the detail of rebates cz i always max out Rm50/month.. sad.gif
*
So what is wrong of getting RM50 rebate? Are you concern on overspending and get No rebate??

Method A (This is after spending with statement comes in)
Look at the statement, it gives you how much is 5% and 1% rebate.
Look at the spending that entitle to 5% rebate, added all up and counter check with the 5% rebate.
The remaining spending multiply by 1% and check against the 1% rebate given.

If you are not sure which one is 1% or 5%, call up the bank to clarify.

Method B (This is to make sure you dont over use and get no rebate at all after hitting RM50 limit)
Call up the bank and tell them you want to know how much can you spend to get maximum RM 50 rebate.

I usually dont keep track on 5% or 1% exact spending. Sometimes we also the dinning place is 5% or 1% rebate.
Just call up the bank, they will tell you up to that moment how much is your rebate. From that you will be able to calculate how much more to spend.

Example, if bank said you have claimed up to RM 35 then it means you can still have RM15 rebate to go.

you can spend RM 300 on 5% rebate (300 x0.05= RM15) or
spend RM 1500 on 1% rebate ( 1500 x 0.01 = RM15) or
a combination pending what do you need to spend

I have tried two different May Bank branches with my existing Citi credit cards (more than 10 years). Both branches asked for payslip or tax return.

Last month I was in supermarket, RHB having promotion. The RHB bank staff ask me to upgrade my RHB platinum card. I told him I dont like to submit any doc. He said no need as I am already RHB credit card holder. Last week I received a letter from RHB stating they need pay slip etc otherwise cannot process the application. Didnt bother to response as I was not that keen to have their card since their rebate is miserable. 40% of the Tesco spending will be used for rebate calculation.

Hi guys, my application was rejected. I've been working for 5 months already and do not have any debt/installment/financing. Annual income is slightly above the min requirement. However, i do have a MBB2 credit card and have been using it for close to 2 months.

Can i know how to submit an appeal? I asked CS officer how to appeal and he told me to resubmit application 3 months later..

Did you not read unknowmaster's post just 2 post above yours? You have to submit it in black and white and justify why you should be awarded the card.

Aiyah, 3 months not very long. By then at least your CCRIS report has something positive in it for the OCBC Officer to consider r when evaluating your application. Just make sure you pay up your MBB 2 Cards bill prior to Due Date.

Oops..sorry that i didn't realize that. I was just glancing through the posts. The CS officer that i dealt with didn't seem supportive of me appealing for the card. I think i'll just wait for another 3 months and apply again. Thanks for the advice! rclxms.gif

I thought that banks would like to issue credit cards to someone who pay the min amount before the due date (or slightly above the min amount) and earn the overdue bank interest on the balance due.

I thought it in that way because OCBC cannot earn on Titanium card ( if all the card holders pay all the debt before the due date) as most the card holders are using it for payment of utilities, groceries and petrol consumption which give 5% rebate.
