Hi, i've just applied the card. My current pay slightly exceeds the minimum salary requirement. I've got 1 credit card, no car/house/student loan on hand. What do u all think about the chance of approval?

Hi guys, my application was rejected. I've been working for 5 months already and do not have any debt/installment/financing. Annual income is slightly above the min requirement. However, i do have a MBB2 credit card and have been using it for close to 2 months.
Can i know how to submit an appeal? I asked CS officer how to appeal and he told me to resubmit application 3 months later..

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Feb 26 2012, 11:13 PM) Did you not read unknowmaster's post just 2 post above yours? You have to submit it in black and white and justify why you should be awarded the card. Aiyah, 3 months not very long. By then at least your CCRIS report has something positive in it for the OCBC Officer to consider r when evaluating your application. Just make sure you pay up your MBB 2 Cards bill prior to Due Date. Oops..sorry that i didn't realize that. I was just glancing through the posts. The CS officer that i dealt with didn't seem supportive of me appealing for the card. I think i'll just wait for another 3 months and apply again. Thanks for the advice!

OCBC is becoming more aggressive in their marketing campaign. Now they're giving rm50 rebate for those who apply at The Curve. That's what i saw on the Sun newspaper.

I wonder why OCBC is going on a campaign to sign up Titanium cards when their approval process is so stringent. Isn't it kind of defeating the purpose of doing it? By the way, my application in Feb was unsuccessful despite meeting all the requirements. Planning to reapply in 2 months time This post has been edited by ckweng: Apr 11 2012, 09:03 PM

QUOTE(Kingt @ Apr 11 2012, 11:08 PM) I suggest u call back your agent to ask the purpose of rejection. U apply via agent or online? I applied online. I asked the CS agent why my application was rejected but he couldn't give a reason. Then I asked about appealing but he told me to reapply after 3 months instead. I was thinking it might be because I was still new into the workforce when i applied (4 months) despite meeting the income requirement.

QUOTE(hcstwb @ Apr 12 2012, 09:57 AM) Tell you my experience. I applied online... someone entertain me via email. Submit everything but no news after 1 month. Go to Curve, saw the OCBC booth, a beautiful lady helped me to fill up all the form, and guess what, approved and I actually received my card in the fifth next working day. If you want I can PM you the tel number. That's great Anyways i've contacted an OCBC staff and figured out why my previous application was not successful. I shall try applying directly through card agent rather than online/email next time.

QUOTE(Steven83 @ Apr 13 2012, 02:24 PM) Just got rejected when I apply for the credit card. All my condition are fullfill: 1. Salary = RM4k per months(clean networth is 3.3k per month after deduce for company shares, epf and tax) 2. No debt. 3. Never owned any credit card. 4. no bad record(own money from bank etc). Its a total joke for me Did you apply online? Apply through agents at roadshows! it should be much easier. There have been similar cases like yours, rejected when applied online and got approved when applied through agent. Added on April 13, 2012, 10:48 pmQUOTE(ronnie @ Apr 13 2012, 07:10 PM) I suggest to apply SCB Credit Card ( with free cash) first. Once approved, apply for the OCBC Titanium Mastercard.... Ronnie, does that help to build up profile? Owning a "higher level card" first before applying for Titanium? If that's the case, how about owning an HSBC Amanah Platinum first (me )? Has anybody successfully applied for the Titanium even with 2 other cards on hand? While waiting to reapply for Titanium, i happily signed up another card for one-off rebates. Now i've got 2 cards on hand...
