Hi Mr. Azarimy,

I just applied my application via UPU, my category is under post-diploma. Just want to ask, working experience or SPM result, which one is carrying more weight?
*
i assume u're talking working experience AFTER diploma? if it is so, and if it's in the same field (architecture, landscape, interior design etc), then experience counts more.

but this is so long as u have met all the SPM minimum requirements.

Hi there,

I applied to UTMspace's diploma in architecture, if I manage to enter, is there a higher chance for me to enter UTM for my part 1 degree, compared if I went to a premier polytechnic?

I forgot where I read it, but I saw that if you studied your diploma in archi there you'd have a higher chance to enter UTM,, or is that outdated info? I remember reading something along the lines as this.

Dear Mr. Azarimy,

Thank you for posting up the guides.

Architecture has always been a dream of mine. I was denied from pursuing that dream by my parents when I was 17, and was forced to take a course that was not to my interest (engineering).

Now that I have worked for a few years and saved up some money, I am looking to rekindle my passion in architecture. I have no STPM certificate, only SPM, a foundation in Engineering Studies and a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.

What is the best route for me to enroll in an architecture course?

Thank you.

I believe u should be able to continue straight into degree without the need to take STPM. So its just a matter of doing it full time or part time.

U should also be able to transfer some credits to ease ur degree. But do note that since this is a professional programme, u will have to go through degree (3 years) and later masters (2 years).

Archi sifus, okay the story is I'll be needing to display a scale building model of size 2ft by 6ft in another state of Malaysia and now the problem is I don't even know how to transport it.

Any advice and suggestions? icon_question.gif

Hi Mr. Azarimy,

In response to Teru, you mentioned that he can also pursue architecture as part time. Is this still valid?

Same as Teru, I also had gone into Engineering path while I'm passionate about architecture. Was trying since 2012 communicating with UTMSpace and keep checking their website waiting for them to re-offer part time architecture course.

It is. We are currently on schedule to offer BSc Arch part time for the first time this Sept. We face some problems at the moment, but we are adamant on keeping the deadline.

Hello Mr.Azarimy

It's April now so I guess the chance for me to get scholarship to study diploma in architectuaral studies is quite low. So I decided to go for Form 6, I was a science stream student back then but I'm going for Art Sream in F6. (I don't think I can cope with Science subjects in F6 bcuz I didn't perform well in F4 & F5)

I wonder does studying architecture needs Science subjects? (as far as I know Maths subject is compulsory right?) Thanks~

We = UTM and UTM SPACE, both of which I am a part of.

Truthfully, what you learned up to form 4 science subjects are sufficient enough to go for architecture. But u cant enroll to any diploma programme without SPM, and degree without STPM/matrics. Thats why u need to go through them.

But if it were up to me, skip straight from form 4 is fine already.

Hello mr. azarimy.

I am currently in my final semester would be graduate with a BSc in Arch soon with a Part 2. If I were to continue my studies into UTM, which has more weight on Portfolios, or Working Experience or CGPA? And of course, any some of the prep I need to do before finishing my course (important things most students overlook like documents etcetera)?

1. portfolio
2. working experience
3. cgpa

in that order.

competition winners, design award recipients, entrepreneurs (meaning u have business of ur own), sportsmen etc all carry some weight towards a successful application.

Hi Sir ! It's me again.
Since the UPU permohonan has closed already, just wanna know.
If I'm lucky enough and get chosen to the interview, agak when is the interview ?
agak when can I receive the sms ?
and last question.
In these few weeks. The portfolio of mine has only 10 plus drawing/painting in it.
Do you think its ok ? Does the quantity really matters ?
