Aside from the :
- price difference
- HD (X) vs FullHD (U)
- reflectiveness you mentioned (confirmed?)

is there anything else different between the Pana 2011 X and U series?
*
U can see the 'screen grid effect' on the X series.

Panny is notorious for using poor quality panels for the X series. It's not even 720p, don't let the marketing fool u.

I think Sammy and Lg's HD ready panels are better than panny's.

I cant make it fill up the whole screen. The titles do not have this feature

What movie you are playing? I really don't know.
For Astro channel switch the TV (aspect) to JUST.
For watching DVD movies, set the DVD player and TV aspect to 16:9

That is, so simple.

If still can not, just adjust your TV remote control (Aspect), just pick which one can fill up the whole screen..

Good luck..

Me watching movie, DVD or Astro or using Media Player, all without single problem. rclxms.gif all full screen. thumbup.gif

X Series Resolution

Resolution of X series = 1024x768 = 0.78 mega pixel

Definiation of 720p From Wikipedia

720p = 720p is the shorthand name for a category of HDTV video modes having a resolution of 1280×720 (for a total of 0.92 megapixels or 921,600 pixels) and a progressive scan.

See this for HDTV supported resolution.

If not mistaken U series got "Resolution Enhancer", suppose to make watching SD tv more enjoyable...

After seeing both side by side, in my own opnion I would say the difference is <5% wink.gif

dude.. x series is hd ready tv...
just to let u know, all hd ready plasma uses 1024X768 (non-square pixel). the only exception is samsung 50/51 size which uses 1366X768

720p is the format... if the TV can support 720 lines (scanning line) its consider as HD ready...
if it support 1080lines its Full HD

Hey there, I believe we are fellow owners of 50VT20K right? Why buy 3Ds from SS2? I've been buying them from Amazon.com and they are surprisingly very affordable.

I'm still very annoyed with the tv's low volume of speech/human talk sound though. Hmmm

If you are very lucky, in some circumstances, you may get discount on price reduction if you order in certain period of time and maybe before release date, Amazon will give deep discount. But that is very rare. I only experienced once in Tangled 3D which the cost (net) for that BD is around RM40. But sorry, that is before include postage. At least, currently not possible to get 3D BD less than RM40 after include postage except Amazon erroneously set the price tongue.gif

I think for most 3D Blu-ray titles, they will cost about RM60-100 after including the cost of shipping. If you buy original ones here in Msia, the 3Ds would easily cost you around RM130-180.

For non-3D ones, you can get them from Amazon for as cheap as RM30 to RM50, and that's after including shipping cost too! ;-)
