They have 42V20 as well, but not displayed.
X30 and U30 on display as well.

I spent some time viewing the Panny X30 & U30 as well as the new Sammy D490, D550, D8000, D7000.

These are my comments.

The X30 has the TrueCinema mode as does the U30. I could not really discern any major black level differences compared to 2010 models but there might be some as this was in the showroom.

The AR filters on both of these are almost non existent with the X30. Both of the sets did not have user level greyscale calibration controls

The D490 was also close to the X30 but with 3D to boot. The D550 looked the same as X30. Both did not have any form of AR filter that is worth talking about. The both of them had user level 2 point greyscale controls but no CMS

The D7000 and the D8000 looked extremely good. They both had 2 point and 10 point greyscale controls. They also had a complete 3D CMS.

Will report more when I get to spend more time on the sets later this year.

I've just purchase Panasonic TH-P42X30K 42" Plasma for RM 1850. But then just now saw in Lowyat, they are selling it for RM 1588, feels like i was cheated

i using th-42U30k, anyone know could i plug in external 2.5 hdd direct to plasma tv, i mean plug and play movie , music or pic?

a few Panasonic plasma TV caught my eyes...saw it at HN today

1) Panasonic 42" 3D Plasma TV P42GT20 with free 3D bluray player BT300 worth RM2000... RM4899
      (made in Japan)

2) panasonic 50 " Plasma TV TH-P50U30K  RM4199

Size does matters.. So, if whoever gonna buy the TV have a good ambient and doesn't mind TH-P50U30K was a bit reflective and don't need the 3D, then go for it..

Can I ask how bad is the reflection for 2011 model P42U30K?
It's a new model, with Dlna support, full HD and below 2k. Really suits my requirements.

What movie you are playing? I really don't know.
For Astro channel switch the TV (aspect) to JUST.
For watching DVD movies, set the DVD player and TV aspect to 16:9

That is, so simple.

If still can not, just adjust your TV remote control (Aspect), just pick which one can fill up the whole screen..

Me watching movie, DVD or Astro or using Media Player, all without single problem.  all full screen.

How you know is not 720p??? If this TV is not 720p, then this tv can not call HDTV....
Do you have any prove????

Aside from the :
- price difference
- HD (X) vs FullHD (U)
- reflectiveness you mentioned (confirmed?)

is there anything else different between the Pana 2011 X and U series?
