Does unifi cap internet speed after exceeding the fair usage policy since I am a heavy multiplayer gamer and i watch a lot of HD videos on youtube

Thank you

My installation date is today..

0830 : A guy from TM Unifi called me to confirm the installation date and time (930 am)

0930: My Streamyx DSL light was suddenly blinking..

1015: The DSL backed online (steady light, no blinking), but I couldn't connect my Streamyx..

1030: They came to my apartment and began the installation.

1100: Finished setting up and asked me to sign the SAF.

Comment: Very friendly and very fast service, considering I just registered last Monday. In fact they said I am the first in this area (Air Panas, Setapak)... Haha! The speed is so far very good! Direct download speed hovering around 550 - 600 KBps.

Im on BIZ5 anyway.

you should be able to use homeplug for the lan..
LAN1 > homeplug >> HOMEPLUG >> PC/DESKTOP...

im NOT SURE IF YOU CAN

LAN1 > HOMEPLUG > HOMEPLUG >> PC/DESKTOP
LAN4 > HOMEPLUG > HOMEPLUG >> IPTV

in the same house.. meaning you using 4 homeplugs...

hi anyone here from putrajaya, im willing to pay for whoever can set my tl-wr941nd to be my bridge since my 3rd floor cant get wireless.

im at dead end 3 hours seting n nothing loll

basiclly i want to do this

3.Using the DIR-615 as a VLAN bridge. This is the method I would recommend. It basically uses the DIR-615 firmware solely to perform VLAN tagging which is required for the PPPoE connection. The VLAN ID 500 is mapped to a physical port on the router, where your own custom router which does not operate with VLAN tagging will be plugged into. This causes the DIR-615 to tag/untag traffic as necessary in the background, creating a transparent VLAN-physical port bridge so that you are able to use your own hardware.

Guys good news, I finally got my dealership for UniFi after trying hard. Now you guys can apply unifi with me. Free installation till the 15march 2011. Application must reach me by the 15th March. (Home and Office application welcome)

Will also help you to terminate your existing streamyx contract if any. Fresh UniFi application welcome. smile.gif

Discussion on Unifi application is strictly via PM only.

Dear All

Thank you to rizvanrp, cherroy, Calvin and everyone else..

After wrestling with PFSense VLAN tagging unsuccessfully, I gave up and used rizvanrp's tested and proven http://unifi.athena.my/custom_routers.html instead. It worked flawlessly on a 7.09 firmware! Caveat on the new config.bin and decoding the operator password..

The trouble I encountered was in trying to get IPTV VLAN working.. Tried creating separate OPT1 interface with VLAN600 and bridging it with PPPOEVLAN500 using the same NIC but no go.. mad.gif

PPPOEVLAN500 was working fine but without IPTV is not acceptable, the spouse would not let me get the Plasma TV without it! cry.gif and I want the FashionTV HD! drool.gif

So, I took the easy way out..

I still want to do away with that crappy DIR-615 though. Anyone with a working standalone PFSense w/IPTV working care to share their methodology?

I am curious however about the Mikrotik's RB250GS as mentioned via KLSeet's website. Dropped an inquiry to Soliton Singapore via their web-form but no answer for the past couple of days!! Wonder whether they're interested in doing business..

Regards

probably a noob question. Am "thinking" of getting vip20. My mobo does not have gigabit lan i think. So, i need to get a pci solution to use vip20 rite?
And regarding that tplink wireless router recommended by klseet, i saw the details from tplink website, it does not really support gigabit lan, just wireless N, am i correct. So, if i am going for vip20, tplink will not really cut it for me huh??? (gonna be using ethernet for my pc)

Why do you feel you need a Gigabit LAN (1000Mbps) to support a VIP20 (20Mbps) line?
I believe with a Fast Ethernet (100Mbps) or even Wireless-G (54Mbps) you're still capable of saturating the VIP20 line speed.

Not today (Read through http://www.unifi.my/unifi/index.php?option...=51&Itemid=203).

But tomorrow maybe.
Or week after.
Or month after.
Or next year.

But don't worry. As long as you keep following this thread, someone will ask again in two or three days time, so you don't have to repeat your question.

Under Biz package, I have one domain provided.

It tells me to login https://cp.netmyne.net/ for the account control panel.

Guess what, when I clicked into the link. doh.gif

False. UniFi is excellent for gaming. They either have connection and/or configuration problems.
