BTW, i would like sifus here to help me. Currently I have a Linksys WRT54GL router with Victek Tomato Firmware. I plan to subscribe Unifi very soon.
My question is, can i use my Linksys router on Unifi system? Is the router compatible with Unifi device/modem? I would like to attach the Linksys router with Unifi device because I need the function of it. And i heard that i can use the bridge mode.

The 'operator' and 'admin' accounts can access the management interface. The operator has read/write access and can change passwords, while the user has read-only access.

The original D-Link firmware had two accounts, 'admin' and 'user'. The 'user' account had a lower level of access to the router while the 'admin' account had full access. In the TM firmware, the roles are swapped. 'user' (old firmware) becomes 'admin' (new firmware) and 'admin' (old firmware) becomes 'operator'. This was done so that the TM callcenter staff could have full access to the router via the operator account while the user was limited to whatever was in the admin account.

The operator account has access to advanced features like VLAN management, SSH/telnet management whereas the admin account only has access to wifi/PPPoE settings.

Anyway to discover the 'operator' password ?

hi my area currently have unifi available already and i wish to ask few question regarding unifi installation

My Unifi FTTH box is locate at the pole behind my house and wish to know how much job there will drill here and there if i need my modem at my living room?

Cause currently this is a rent unit and i worry if the installation need too much drill job i have hard time to explain to my owner later on ><

For new and migration from streamyx to unifi. Streamyx can be terminated when upgrading to unifi. Customer have the choice to keep their existing telephone number or terminate the telephone line and use the telephone number bundled with unifi.

Benefit of terminating the copper telephone line is to save on the monthly rental chargers. Unifi telephone number is cheaper as there is no monthly rental, free calls to TM numbers and cheaper call rates.

One more question, does anyone know why when do speed test (using speedtestnet) to KL Servers, I get very high latency, whereas to Singapore I get very low. Below is the result :-

1) KL - about 400-600ms
2) Singapor - about 15ms

Any idea? will it affect?

How do you guys receive Unifi bill? Email? Postal? Cos I just received the bill statement via email, but I prefer they send to me via postal.

If they send to me via email, I print out the bill statement myself, and pay it at post office. Possible?

does anyone know what is the length of the fibre optic cable that is included with the free $200 installation (ie. from the box to the tv). at my place the box is at the back of the house and my tv is way in front of the house.
Just to make sure the contractor don't try to charge me by saying the distance exceed the approve cable lenght.
Just like installing astro, the contractor claim there is a maximum length is free and additional charges if the length exceeded.

i havent get my unifi yet, tomorrow they'll come to install. Just like the Router Modem we have for streamyx, we can access the control panel page, takkan UNIFI we cant?

all the equipment must put beside the TV ? if i don wan the TV service, can i set all the equipments beside my computer ?
