Dear all,
I m planning to get unifi vip5 installed.
I m staying landed property double storey.
Question:
1. TM says they will install decoder, modem wireless router, deck phone, TV decoder.
How is the quality of their wireless modem router?
2. Can i use back my existing Belkin wireless modem router bcoz i afraid their modem wireless router is not as good?
3. After they install unifi, how can i change the unifi password?
4. After they install unifi, how can i change the wireless (WIFI password) such as WEP etc.... ?
5. I have a desktop computer, if i want my desktop computer to connect to the unifi thru wifi instead of using the LAN cable, what do i need to buy? Is it the usb wifi dongle?
6. The equipments they install, still belongs to them right? So if got problem, they will come to my house and fix it??
Advise plssss
1. The feedback of the router provided DIR-615 is not good, quite a few complaints if you read around on the board. Mine broke - I didn't bother to get a replacement from TM but bought an alternative (TP Link)
2. I believe you need to still use provided router as a bridge, unless your router supports VLAN tagging, otherwise IPTV won't function
3. I don't know if the Unifi password can be changed (PPPoe password that is) anyway there's no need as it gets saved on the router anyway
4. You can login to the provided router or your own router, to change the WEP password
5. You would need WiFi USB dongle, or PCI card.
6. Not 100% sure , but I guess the equipment still belongs to them , so should be able to replace/fix if any issue. With faulty router I just replaced myself as I was worried the same thing would happen again to DIR-615

This will show the traffic route Eg.

2 22 ms 23 ms 21 ms 132.115.in-addr.arpa [115.132.109.218]
