If tm really cap us at 60GB(for vip5),are we really dead in the water?
*
If you have subscribed to VIP 5, your option is to upgrade to VIP 10 or live with the capped speed (still unsure at what speed they'll cap if you hit your monthly cap).

just make sure the cap is for international and not local....

local traffic should be unlimited...
*
Is this true?
If that is so, by subscribing to local VPN, then we can surf with unlimited usage loh.. shocking.gif

yeah me too downloaded tons of stuff , but sometimes speed fluctuate here and there but no big deal, cause nature of networking

you should expect some shit here and there especially with telekom and unifi.....

we all just have to wait and see, when the cap is implemented...

maybe then can upgrade to biz5 and possible ala-cart the iptv...  smile.gif
*
You cannot upgrade from VIP 5 to BIZ 5 lah, that's what I've been told by TM staff. But you can upgrade to VIP 10 biggrin.gif

QUOTE(billytong @ Feb 21 2011, 10:10 AM)
It is mentioned by TM local is unlimited.

I am actually more interested on the local speed. It wouldnt cost TM much if they allow 100mbps/1gbps between Unifi users, even SG ISP are giving 100mbps at local speed.

As for the cap, I wouldnt want to know what kind of stuff u guys DL actually but if iti s movie/music, can u actually got time to finish/keep up lol, I find that 100GB DL alone is more than sufficient. Infact right now I couldnt have time to even finish what I have DLed.

it is only this month that I exceeded 100GB DL alone.
*
Do you have any link to support for the TM local bandwidth is unlimited? I am interested to VIP but I need some black and white sources that state VIP packages's cap is only applicable for international bandwidth.

Telephone operator for UNIFI. Basically he said that residential package can only upgrade to higher residential package and so on but for business you can only upgrade to higher business package. No cross upgrade available. sad.gif

Has anyone paid their bill on occ.unifi.my?

I tried today, because I realised it's the payment due date already.

So I went to their website to pay. Payment was successful as indicated by the receipt.

When I went back to the bill tab, to my dismay, it freaking said the payment wasn't successful! F-UCK!

Their billing department is not on call now sad.gif I have to wait till tomorrow before I can check. But WTF!!! Who did the retarded system?!

Add me, VIP 10. I'm thinking of upgrading/downgrading to biz 5. worth it?
*
Can you downgrade / upgrade to BIZ packages since you're from residential packages? I emailed TM few weeks ago and they say we can only upgrade to higher residential packages (no cross upgrade available). If there's any new update about this regulation, please let me know.

You mean faster than streamyx but speed not very fast as expected of a broadband? What about P1 wimax? That is my second choice. Will the speed better than unifi for such movies download or P1 also cap the speed.

Thanks.

Fred

P1 is very dependent on area. At some area, they're very fast. At some area, you'll probably throw the modem away.

I think I easily hit above the 15GB for P1 wiggy and probably exceed 30GB of home pro package since I download movie everyday. I understand P1 has 1 yr contract for home packages.
Maybe unifi control the total usage via capping the download speed since TM hasn't introduce their fair usage capping.
You guys think I should just stick with 1MB streamyx or upgrade to unifi VIP5 if I mainly use the net for download?
*
Why don't you upgrade to higher Streamyx package?

My bad... I register the wrong installation address for the UniFi. So for those that want to register online, please check properly. They cancel my order due to can't edit my order. (Just change the house number also cannot.) Then they told me I can register the username again. I have to use another username. (I don't know why.. they want to keep that username since is not in use.)

Now I have to wait for them to refresh it. Tomorrow only can register again.

Means that your account has been registering pending activation lo. laugh.gif

I think what Jalopy mentioned maybe related to below exercise done by TM. Seems they are upgrading their HSBB network to a new platform but currently they do it per area. Other area not mentioned below maybe they will do it this year...Hopefully...biggrin.gif

Is this part of the capping facilities they are rumored to be going implementing this coming June/July?
