hey guys wanna give a heads up. i decided to part ways with my beloved N900. i've not been using it for a while so i decided to sell it. the condition is excellent; buttons still working and not worn off, slider is still tight, no scratches on the bezel at all (confirm) and the magnet stand is still working. however there's only one noticeable mark, which is on the right side of the keyboard. other than that zero markings and excellent condition. for those of you who are interested, have a look here MY N900. thanks and have a nice day smile.gif

I want to like this phone, but the lack of updated offline GPS map put me off... I tried Sygic, and while it was good, the Malaysian map hasn't been updated since 2010. Is there other GPS apps that support latest offline malaysian map? I read that the built-in Ovi Maps is more up-to-date, but I don't know if it supports downloadable offline map?

Unfortunately.. no offline maps even for Ovi Maps.

I hope they can port Nokia Drive to N900 - which in turn does even have turn-by-turn navit with offline navit

Guys, I would like to share an incident about my N900 with you all.
Beware : It's a rather nasty incident.

My confession :
3 days ago, I threw my N900 against a wall.

because of my bad temper and other factors at that time, and suddenly my N900 crashed & auto-rebooted on me (probably due to lack of ram and I am frequently angered by this) that was when I went crazy and threw my N900 against the wall infront of me. The wall was roughly 1 meter away and I threw my N900 pretty hard, with no casing attached.

The N900 did not break apart, but everything came off, battery cover, battery, even the stylus. It now has a nasty scratch at the edge of the screen's chassis, and the upper part of the screen's chassis is a little bit bent out.

To be frank, I am surprised when afterwards I put everything back together again and everything works just fine EXCEPT that I broke the camera focus motor, causing the camera to unable to focus, but I i still can take photos.

Good old tough Nokia. I felt kinda bad afterwards for doing this and the N900 earned new found respect from me.. Amazing tough hardware I must say.. any other regular modern smartphone would have had their touchscreen broken with such a force.

A big sorry for my N900!

I managed to find a link to download offline Ovi Map malaysian map. But I don't know if it's compatible with Maemo version. I dont have an n900 to try, and I don't know if it's allowed to post that link here.

I'd be very surprised if it works.

Do update about the progress.

for us is +60 such as +60161234567

there are lots of explanation about whatsapps treating on/offline status in the thread already, online only mean when the user is activate the program and using it, offline mean the progam is running in background

versatile = yes
fluid = not close

if only there was a way to add more RAM, the phone would last at least 1 more year

There was, but Whatapps block the application for illegal registration, until someone hack the new system, only those using Yappari before the blockade able to use whatsapps for now....until they discover those old registration and block them too sad.gif

Guys, are anyone experiencing any problem booting up the phone after updating to kernel power 51?

My N900 was fine and all until I updated to KP51 And decided to reboot it. It did boot up to the home screen and rebooted itself before any icons and widget are loaded.. and this repeats..

Any idea of what's wrong? I didn't find anybody talking about this problem in maemo forum..

no problems so far. more reliable than my pc.

worst case scenario you can just reflash it. its very hard to brick n900.
