QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 14 2011, 12:57 PM) Bro, was away for the whole day. To flashing the kernel means reformat the whole phone right? I want to download the firmware file, but I cant access my phone and thus dont have serial number. Can you send me the file? |

QUOTE(vaizard @ Jun 14 2011, 11:25 PM) bro..by serial number u mean imei no?if imei no,take out battery n u can see at the back of ur phone.. Alright bro, thanks a lot for that! Downloading the files now.QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 14 2011, 11:29 PM) No.The command will only reflash kernel file.BTW are you using kernel power? Nope, not using kernel power, and what does that do? Downloading the file, I will follow Manual Update A and type the code u mention on step 10 and let you know how it goes. Hope everything go smoothly I don't have any other link for the firmware file. You have to download from maemo site as given from frontpage. Just press *#06# in phone dial & the imei should come up & enter the code in that site. Steps are pretty simple: Follow Manual Update A but in step 10 instead of typing CODE flasher-3.5.exe -F R.bin -f -R type the following CODE
flasher-3.5 -F R.bin --flash-only=kernel -f -R
|

QUOTE(mashimarow @ Jun 15 2011, 10:39 PM) when you flashing, no need to turn on power, the power is from USB tried that and not working also hold the U then plug in the USB cable, when the usb symbol appears, release the U, you don't have to touch anything on the phone anymore QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 15 2011, 11:15 PM) Don't remember that. bro im using windows xp since my windows 7 is 64bits, and the flasher only works on 32bits right? If you're using Windows Vista/7 go to control panel->devices & printers Check whether there's N900(Update Mode) Till now I never used filebox to move files. I prefer terminal & WinSCP http://maemo.org/packages/view/preenv/ It's there. Type "apt-get update" & retry installing preenv |

A big thank you to super_evil_alien, Patent, mashimarow and Andy214 for helping me to get back my phone to life.
Yes, the problem lies with the insufficient of battery power to go into "update" mode so gotta take note on that next time when doing reflash. And flashing only the kernel does save back all my data inside the phone. Thanks guys! |
