Anyway, Nokia may be use Meego for the computer range product instead on mobile.

Except the Desktop; It can't work in Portrait mode unless it's a separate Desktop configuration because of the flexible desktop design. In order to allow Portrait and Landscape orientation like Symbian, the widgets, buttons, need to be place inside a container or box, or fix sized, so that when it rotate to Portrait mode, it can re-arrange all the containers/box/buttons vertically, where as in Landscape mode, it will expand and re-arrange, just like Symbian.

I would not want to loose the flexible Desktop, which is why it's called Desktop just like our Windows Desktop, the orientation is also in landscape mode. BUT, they could always make it as an option, instead of being Apple like, only give you 1 choice 

Still the CSSU might consume more memory and cause the device to lags more, especially for those whom already have laggy device after jam-pack it with widgets on Desktop. The device crave for more memory and power.

On a side note, I tested the Mozart at DiGi centre; it's smooth and fast, like iOS, but very plain and simple, the calendar is just plain 2D white with simple table and black font, while Maemo looks way cooler, futuristic with nice gradient blue, etc. Nonetheless, the fluidity and smoothness is nice. Heard multi-tasking, copy-and-paste, IE9 mobile is coming this year, but multi-tasking might be something like iOS as they said something about "controlling" to prevent over usage of battery; Control is one thing, always allow options for advance users, is another thing.
Wondering about Flash, as the mobile IE doesn't support Active-X plugin due to security reasons? But Adobe announce there will be Flash for Windows Phone 7? 

I also tested the HTC Desire HD, not sure why, it's so darn laggy and actually hang/stop responding, maybe too many apps open or memory usage too high?  Give up touching it back to Mozart.

The battery consumption is the killjoy part of the CSSU for now.
Currently I'm using the modified hildon desktop & some patched application file to enable autorotation.Gives roughly the same effect but without the heavy battery consumption.

And no,it's not from CSSU.It's standalone deb files.What CSSU does is pretty much send these third party updates & combined it together as bulk & makes it as a group update.I just take some of it.

The best is, we have a choice, we can customize to make it complicated and useful, or keep it simple so it's smooth, etc. But, usually, we would want to utilize and very much customize it 

Regarding portrait mode, many apps have portrait mode, but you can have option to turn it on or off, that's the beauty,  CHOICE for users, especially for people who don't have the rotation.
Some apps, I turn off the auto-orientation because it's quite annoying when it rotates, still prefer landscape view most of the time, and sometimes, when the phone is laggy, the auto-orientation can be quite problematic. Luckily, we have a choice =)

If only we can upgrade the hardware on this device.....

you should treat N900 as a mini computer with phone capability, so it's phone function is sucks, but it's capability to improve is unlimited.

Nokia officially discontinue production, which could mean they also stop upgrading N900 firmware(there are talks about upgrading N900 to Meego) but we have maemo community, you should have see people mention about CSSU which is a firmware upgrade by 3rd party community to pro-long N900 life (yes, they make N900 in portrait mode!).

Not only from CSSU, there are people who skill in Linux actually rewrite the virtual keyboard to key in chinese word which was lacked and demanded since the beginning. The program was released 2 days ago.

Just now I scoop around maemo community and find someone actually modify ovimap to have speech capability!!

So, you want to buy N900 or not is depend on you, if you need a phone with ease of use, you can choose fruit phone, you need a phone with lots of support , you can choose android phone.  if you are an adventure type who like to learn programming/altering/tweaking your phone, N900 is the one and only 

haha yea n900 is still my dream phone~ seems like meamo is still on going, correct? so i will get my n900 asap lol. thanks for all the advice!!! will start to learn how-to-use after i got it   (well hope still have stock..........)
