It probably using D7000's sensor. But wonder what features is upgraded from D300s, probably the upgraded view feature (the same in D7000) and wonder what else.

AF module is the one that is interesting. Wonder what new system will Nikon introduce for their FX line up.

guys if you have kit lens 18-55 and so happen you bought wide converter with a high price (e.g RM700) <- silly me.
and I am thinking to grab 17-50 tamron. what will you do? will you sell it 1st then use your tamron only (knowing the fact kit lens is good for wide angle) or you will keep both one for wide combo plus wide converter and another one tamron for normal purpose lens?
Confuse

Option 1, use Tamron only. I don't think you would even use the 1855 once you get the Tamron.

If you shoot raw, your raw file will have none of those settings applied. The first thing you will notice if you do shoot raw is... there is NO NOISE REDUCTION applied. So,... yea, you have more things to PP.
Nope, the bigger the aperture, the easier to know the problem. The smaller aperture will have more in focus, covers more depth, so it's harder to tell.

If you want to do proper focus test, you will need to use tripod and do serious test to know. For basic test without tripod, you can put the camera on the table, line up the batteries, or put a book with wordings 45 degrees, etc. open to the widest aperture and focus and shoot, make sure the camera and object doesn't move. Take several shots, review the pictures and see.

Example:

-|------
--|-----
---|----
----|---
-----|---

---C---

C = Camera
| = Batteries or other objects, or book/paper with words in 45 degrees
If you're handholding and shooting in f/1.4 or 1/1.8, you might not doing it properly where you or the camera might have moved just a little and the actual focus depth/plane changed when you press/release the shutter, resulting in inaccurate test.

If you have time, watch this video tutorial and how this guy test:

Glad you mentioned about this !

I never know noise reduction is not applicable when shooting in RAW.

Thanks !

Hmm, I don't have any lens with that range. My experience with 2470 does not require VR.

Typo. I mean 17-50. Considering tamron between VC and non-VC.
since 24-70 VR is not required. I will go for non-VC instead. selling kitty yay rclxm9.gif

Try to search dpreview forum and photomalaysia see. Some said yes some said no. Ask Kent lo he is using. =D
I see Canon thread, they got discussed about it before.

Im using D3100 , but i wont get tamron 17-50 f2.8 at least for now because i like prime ><"

For wide angle i would go for 10-24mm nikkor for non-autofocus motor

For DX like d90 i would go for tokia 11-16

yeah I also like prime but you can't shoot only with 50mm prime don't you?
moreover budget-wise prime is far more costly.
I am waiting for kent to pop-up tongue.gif hahaha..
