QUOTE(bbuser91 @ Jan 23 2011, 03:22 PM) If there is any , i will let you know. Haha I have flash gun and I already have my superb portrait lens Go get SB-700 + extra battery + Sigma 50mm instead of getting battery grip first. Not necessary for it haha and don't think about upgrade yet. body upgrade? maybe yes. I do find I have a problem in holding my camera vertically. usually I couldn't hold it symmetrically vertically therefore I wish battery grip could help me on that. QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 24 2011, 02:18 AM) im just wondering if the weight is all in the mind, or everyone just simply saying I will go for sb900 at anytime if budget isn't the constraint the weights w/o batt. sb700 360gm. sb800 350gm. sb900 415gm. sb700 and sb900 diff of only 55gm = roughly weight of 2 AA batts. |

I'm on a tight budget recently =( grip help you on portrait shooting. but of course to make things a little better on portrait shooting you need to have the gun bro. |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Jan 24 2011, 08:55 PM) How's the focussing speed of sigma 50mm compared to Nikkor's G?? That day I tested the G and then the D, wow..... the G is soooo slow compared to D!! it is omg slow if comparing side by side..... wonder how's Sigma I will keep my 35 when I manage to grab my 50mm sigma. maybe somewhere in may.Juz wondering if u have a Sigma 50mm, will u still use 35mm 1.8? lol..... I thought of keeping for group photo indoor, lol.... am I crazy 35mm is good for walk-around lens. where 50mm is for portrait on DX. |

IDK why I love the look of 50mm 1.8
I think even tough later I have 50mm 1.4 sigma or 50mm 1.2 Nikkor (If later they publish) I still want to get that legendary 50mm 1.8 Nikkor. Sadly no AF motor on my body. This post has been edited by aldosoesilo: Jan 25 2011, 10:29 AM |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Jan 25 2011, 10:42 AM) uhh? Really? what make it so? I mean they serve different purpose isn't it? mind to elaborate more? moreover one is 1.4 aperture and another 1 is 2 aperture. what makes you go for 2 aperture instead? |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Jan 25 2011, 10:52 AM) I find 35mm more suitable for my use. Wedding, portraiture, dining etc. Yeah I found so too.50mm too tight. If I need some background separation, my 70200 is there. So, in the end, i sold my 50mm. Is the range, not the aperture. Might get 24/1.4 and 50m/1.2 once i'm on FF 35mm probably on selling list after this 35m is perfect for walk-around. sadly I don't have 70200 yet. =\ I haven't use 50mm lens yet. therefore I don't know about the range estimation. Thanks for the input bro. I might place it for consideration. anyway what is your opinion about 70200 sigma? of course it is a way behind nikkor. but do you find it is acceptable? I know you have a good sense of lens picking therefore you even said 35mm 1.8 is a trash |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Jan 25 2011, 11:12 AM) Sigma 70200 HSM not that bad la. Acceptable but kinda soft on wide open above 130mm (IIRC) the problem is it is not an AF-S lens. so I can't enjoy the AF on my body. For the price, get 80-200 Nikkor better or upgrading body to d90 is a good idea? Man. I am stuck! QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 25 2011, 11:20 AM) I found myself always playing with the zoom and unable to stick with one particular range if I use zoom lens. therefore when I bring my 1855 out I am playing with the zoom instead of stick with one range and threat it like prime lens. Next time I must try not to even touch the zooming barrel. Thanks anyway |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 25 2011, 11:34 AM) 80-200 got AF-S, but more expensive I really want to upgrade to D90 but I find it is more like degrade not upgrade unless I go for d7000.http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/80200afs.htm if on budget, why not find used camera? D70 or D80 around RM1k. and yeah D7000 is a way out of my budget. 80-200 is almost double of sigma 70-200 price. |
