in terms of weight it's heavy, heavier than 18-105
but i dun mind d weight
as for focusing, it depends whether u get a good copy or nt

f/2.8 above can get consistent focus result, below that start to oof easily

How's the focussing speed of sigma 50mm compared to Nikkor's G?? That day I tested the G and then the D, wow..... the G is soooo slow compared to D!! it is omg slow if comparing side by side..... wonder how's Sigma

Juz wondering if u have a Sigma 50mm, will u still use 35mm 1.8? lol..... I thought of keeping for group photo indoor, lol.... am I crazy

Hey Kent have u tried out 50mm f/1.8 and 35mm f/1.8? If yes I need some comments on it... Decide to get an affordable prime lens first
*
I would say the 50mm is always a better portrait coz of the focal length. It automatically creates better bokeh..... juz my 2cents

I'm using VC n I love it.... haha..... VC vs non-VC, I would juz grab the VC coz of the function, don care sharpness 1st, juz try handheld indoor without high iso, shoot on some words at distance n see flex.gif

that the reason I doubt having VC in tammy 1750 is essential as it's maximum range is only 50mm.
moreover VC version seems less sharp

thanks for the input bro. I think I will grab tammy 1750 non-VC instead. but let's see.
*
I dare u challenge me with ur non-vc handheld indoor 50mm to shoot some products with words on it den u can see double image on yours brows.gif I can shoot at lower iso and get as sharp image, but u need to bump ur iso mayb two stops higher, so which produce cleaner image? u do the math.... don always see review, they put on tripod to do the testing, but for everyday use u don't bring ur tripod to ur dinner gathering always rite wink.gif

Not that critical actually, I focus and recompose with my 85 f/1.4G.

AF is still more or less there. Should be even easier with a 50mm.
*
If I use spot metering, let's say I use middle point to focus at the eyes, then recompose, the mid point went to somewhere darker, so eventually the pic will b overexposed right?

In that case, you set for when you half press it does AF lock and AE lock. Then metering won't change as you recompose.
*
I see.... using the AF&AE lock button when the focus locks on? Then recompose n click the shutter to capture only?

Haha.... Then 39 or 51 AF point oso useless, juz for show only lor doh.gif

nothing in the back is in focus either, so how can it be back focus? tongue.gif
i would say its a false positive in the focus since there isnt enough contrast or he moved too close to the flower that the lens cannot focus.
*
Opps... I wanted to say front focus, if cannot lock focus, u can't event hit the shutter to take the pic la bro.....

im surprised ur saying that since u also own a D7000, which i guess means u never really explored ur camera properly.
there is a option in menu for af-c and af-s autofocus to either shoot even tho its not in focus.
*
If af-c den hand shake won't cause prob dy lor, means front focus lor.... sweat.gif
