Surprised to see the Desire Z still appealing to people close to 1 year after it was launched.

it's the only htc with physical keyboard, so it will continue to be on sale, till a replacement comes out....

and i still got no notice of 2.3 upgrade.....does the fact that it's an AP set from uk anything to do with this?......

Coming from G1/HTC Dream, desire z is the only kb available from HTC. Plus, adreno 205 is a good investment, still on par with desire s/IS etc smile.gif
and the price tend to stabilize after a few months tongue.gif got mine for 999

Was hoping for a possible replacement from the Mytouch 4G Slide, but the desire z's design is much more appealing. Hope HTC will come out with another kb device! kb ftw nod.gif

I got my GB update right after I turned it on, you can do it manually by going to Menu>setting>about>software update it will download and install it automatically
or you can always flash virtuous sense from here Virtuous Sense v2.0.0 which is what i'll be doing tomorrow, cant live without root tongue.gif and got annoyed with the bloated apps

to all, there is another MIUI rom released, the dev seems to be consistent in compiling the latest MIUI version, it comes with virtuous OC daemon and memory management, Bulletproof MIUI here

Phones with slide-out KBs have limited appeal in this part of the world. One thing is they can only go so thin without compromising the KB.

Motorola makes good KB phones, but those damned bootloaders aren't unlocking.

Go Rambo. Hehe.

I have one of those hard snap-on case, where there's 2 parts to it. I only clip on the back part though. Most of the snap-on case dealers in Garage Sales have them.

Anyway + 1 on the fact that Motorola makes good keyboard biggrin.gif Its so true.

Can't wait for Google new android phone (motorola) =P

yeap, the Music app problem in MIUI is a know problem, and tun4fish said that it is a problem from MIUI itself, check out the last part of this post, it'll help to prevent the problem from occurring

^lol a lot of work needs to be done on propriety skins before even being close to porting to an alien brand. You hardly see Sense UI being ported to Galaxy S, and TouchWiz the other way found. There's a whole different framework thingy that needs to be dealt with. Only exceptions are the Nexus devices, which has custom manufacturer skins ported over.

ah, right, htc sense requires its own compatible kernel, so unless another non htc device's kernel is modified to be compatible, it wont work.hahaha, it is alright cant wait for ICS, hopefully the vanilla interface is updated with some nice UI without affecting performance too much.

Btw, there is a leak of the upcoming Sense 3.5 and it is said to be less hardware intensive, meaning we might be able to get it! hahaha tongue.gif but it looks a bit MIUI-ish, full details here http://j.mp/rdpS73

so many pro new user here... rclxms.gif

which means probably we could have sense 3.5 in our phone without root?

you can try to use ZAGG invisible shield which shields the phone for you without adding thickness.though have to be very careful with the thing.i messed it up abit and the thing dun last long now..but at least the battery cover is well protected.seen alot of people with the aluminium back cover kind of peel off.

the invisible shield would indeed protect the phone from scratches, but I'm looking for something that protects it from impact as well...
Any idea if anyone is still selling the "Barely There Case" for this model?... icon_question.gif

Ahh I had it too. But I kinda take it off (for the front) because having gorilla glass but still use screen protector, is kinda waste. Gorilla glass ftw!

I thought otterbox did the job well to minimise impact on drop? I'm using that too!

^how is the ZAGG shield for the back side of the phone? is it a clear finish or matte finish?

might buy one coz i heard the aluminium plate has a coating that tends to peel off, how many of you have this peeled coating issue =P
